"Okay, I knew that, but you can't be sure that what on the island happened really happened. I think it did, but then there rises a question: what is the island? "
Jack dies, Hurley stays behind with Ben, everyone else leaves and lives their lives. Eventually they all die and find themselves in the Alt.
If you go right back to the start of Season 6, that moment Jack feels something on the plane happens right after he dies, hence the scars and marks on his neck.
The question about the island could do with being answered though. As well as why Smokey couldn't leave and what would happen if he did. On the whole though I'm not annoyed that it wasn't answered. This whole show has been far more about the journey and the lessons learned than getting the answers.

Finally, a guy that understands...
except the plane thing :) the scars and marks that he gets he somehow gets in real time... and corespond to facts on the island
but yes... this was an amazing journey that left some questions not answered but it leaves them to us... and we should be greatful for that...

I think the scars happen with every moment of realisation
that could be another supposition and a deeper one... but, to be honest I think it's just one of those things that you (as the viewer) would like to believe... because he is very surprised everytime he sees the blood and doesn't have any "realization"
he is the one that starts having them amongst the last... maybe because he was the one that was supposed to close the circle
anyway, I love it

Like it showed at the beginning of the season when their plane was flying over the island, there was plane in the ocean and dead bodys, so actually they all died at the beginning when their plan crashed. And the whole story was intermediary stage before going to heaven.
that would have been even cooler but it's not actually true :)
that was indeed just a cover up
that was indeed just a cover up
Can you give me a screenshot because I must have missed it, along with everyone else.
I was a little wrong, there wasn`t plane in the ocean but the island village and statue.

Is it now confirmed that setting off the nuke actually caused the incident?
Here's the thing, if the alt line isn't real and wasn't created by the bomb going off, then that means there's no alternative and when they flashed back to 2007, everything was how it was supposed to be.

If by alt line you mean the one that starts when all land safely in USA, without crashing, that line is not real, it's just a fictional one that ensures a safe passing over for the whole group that experienced so much together...
from my point of view, the alt line is a "proof" that the scenarists have brought into play in order to, once again, show that there is a superior good out there, that watches over us/them
the alt line is divinity's way of saying thank you for keeping the evil on the island...
that's my 2 cents

About some things said above:
- his scars are in the alt line, which is not real, as it is a timeline to get Jack 'over it' and 'go on' with his life
- their was a wreckage in the ocean, but it was a fake one, it was put their by Widmore
I keep to my point: we still don't know what the island really is. I do believe that it happened ( some say that that is imaginary too, as I've said before ), but what the island really is, we'll probably never know. But I don't need to know that.

I've already said the alt line isn't real, that's not what I was asking. I was saying that, if it's not real, then that means it's not a result of the nuke going off, so that means there is no result of the nuke going off. So logically the nuke causes the incident.
And for what it's worth (and because everyone is asking about wherever I go)
The statue, the temple and all the other egyptian stuff was created in the 40 years between Jacob and MIB being born and when Mother killed them most of them. The egyptians erected the statue as a fertility god when they found they couldn't have children on the island. The artwork inside the temple happened afterwards and they interpreted Smokey as Ammit the Destroyer.

Answers were never an issue for me personally - it was a mysterious island after all. Life too, is full of unanswered questions. It's the alt timeline that is really bugging me. From the nuke onwards, half the storyline seems to be pointless and not make much sense. I'm half tempted to put it alongside Pam Ewing in the shower...
As for the Egyptians, that's just weird. Jacob seems to have come from a time when Latin was spoken? Maybe I picked that up wrong? So where did a bronze age culture living at 2000 BC come from to build the statue, temple and other things? Maybe the island moved through time? Does it move physically as well, from location to location?

There was a time towards the end of the Egyptian empire where latin was prevalent because of the Roman influence.
It wasn't 2000 BC, that would have been 4000 years ago, it would have been between AD1-100. No time issues with the bronze age.

Egyptian culture, religion and language were pretty much dead by that point and had been for centuries. While it's possible that some minor religious cult still practicing the old ways found its way to the island, this seems a bit contrived. To me it appears that the writers simply left this unexplained (which is fine) or abandoned exploring this area any further due to changes in direction of the story.
