Sorry, but these are just total cliches, benefiting from fact, that you can create various English terms endind with "less". Talk about middle age or any era you haven´t idealised in your head and make tuns of such "funny things".. ;) - And I am not saying I am uncritical, but one of really terible things of nowdays is - again in cliche terms - that everybody complains, but no one acts (if you won´t count "like" in FB etc.) ;-)
