"So lets go out and plant some trees. ;) "
now that's something I can agree on... :-P
...as for the exact percentage's, and our great grand grand grand grand kids, I believe they will have time to make their own decisions, and their own solutions (that we can't even think of...), ...to incoming actual problems... the "Global Warming" hype is so exagerated that by the time it really kicks in, we might have some futuristic bubbles around whole cities ;-) (which are in danger of being flooded) ;-P
who knows... "time is on our side" ;-P
My only suggestion to my gran-kids will be: don't buy property in Venice, Thailand or anywhere too close to the sea, even Holland... ;-P
...that just made me think... how ridiculous and stupid those fake dubai palms/islands are... what a waste of time and money... :-/
still 20/30/40 cm per 100 years is not that bad... ;-)

All this global warming is because Langhe and Darvor...
:P
:P
Hey i do my bit for the enviroment. i just think that wheels are all ready in motion, it can't be stopped only slowed down slightly. as popullation grows, matters will only get worse.
It's true that the earth is cooling down for almost one decade.
???
It only shows, that the winters are getting colder, which in fact doesn't contradict the global warming, as winter is only one part of the year, isn't it?
If the summer are getting even hotter, you still get a temp-increase. How would you explain, that there are so many typhoons and orcans over the year (there are more orcans in the atlantic this year than 10 years ago)? That is a clear sign of global warming... :(

The number of typhoons and tornadoes and such is absolutely not related to global temperature.
Since the El Niño year of 1998 global temperature has dropped.
I think I have said this many times in this topic: I'm not opposing global warming and I'm not opposing efforts to promote 'green' technology, in fact I'm going to study the master sustainable energy technology, but I'm very critical regarding proof of global warming. Scientists don't even know whether world temperature is increasing or decreasing. Less than 50 years ago scientists were alarmed by global cooling. It's good to make people aware, but the attention global warming gets is disproportional.

With orcan, I meant the cyclones that plague the caribian seas and the mexican bay, not tornadoes.
Fact is, that for the formation of those cyclones, you need warm water (at least 26.5 °C) and a low pressure zone. The water is warm enough earlier after the winter, because of the global warming (= more of those windstorms).
Or maybe it's just my imagination! :P

I agree on the point, that people generally don't know what it's about.
For the temp-change, you need a network of weather stations, like the NASA uses. But it's not complete, there are still some uncovered zones (how could they, in the southern hemisphere there's much more water surface, and the strong streams around the antarctis don't help at all).
I'm rather interested about where the information comes. Is it only the observation of El Niño? It's just one part of the equation. The Gulf Stream is also slowing down, because of the global warming... Too bad, we'll have a similar climate in Europe like in Canada, should it stop completly... :(

My point is that besides not having complete data, scientists don't know which data is important. Some areas and at some heights temperatures are rapidly going down.
And if summers start earlier doesn't mean that there is global warming.
And El Niño's are not used to measure temperatures, the are the cause of a temporarily increased temperature.
And as far as I know the gulf stream story is an urban myth, but even then, I would be very happy to have an eleven city tour again:)

I meant the temperatur raised quicker after the winter, not that the summer started earlier ;)
So if the temperature rises quicker after the winter it means that the summer is starting earlier. No?
The cost of defending coastal areas of Wales from rising sea levels is increasing so fast that some towns and villages may have to be left to the elements.
This affects me and I will have to abandon my home!
NOOOOOOO!

does the temperature rise because of CO²
OR
is there more CO² in the air because of the higher temperature..
Think about it
