i mean Sanidad Publica, however it is called in ebnglish :PççMore than a french invention, is a Keynesianism economic system ( a mix between capitalism and comunism)
@guacamole: Do you think Roosvelt was comunist or socialist? :P Health Public system dosent mean always socialism, you can have Universal Health Care System and freedom of market, like in some of the west and norh europe countries

I now live in the us ( I study here), I study in Missouri. Althought in Missouri the one that won was McCain, my University was completely with Obama. I was able to see Obama face everywere, and even in the election day, when I woke up, I saw sticked in everybody's door a little paper that says: VOTE OBAMA TODAY.
I was, of course, big deal here. When CNN announced that Obama won, I was able to hear people shooting in the air by the villages near here, it was kind of scary, but I think that's the way they express their happiness.
I agree with Obama's election as president. I was really afraid that McCain could win the elections. Mostly because he's really old and his VP is really stupid. Sarah Palin, seems to be a lil 5-years-old-kid and there's no way that someone like that could even have the possibility to be able to enter in the White House.

in that case no, i doubt obama will do a universal health care system. I'd think it will be more availability of healthcare, and people having greater options (not based solely on employers' plans).
Personally i don't want universal health care, i think it degrades the overall quality of the system. But i do want availability of all who need it.
For Europeans it is often hard to believe that there's no universal health system in one of the richest and most modern countries. However it's just a choice. But now I wonder (just because I don't know): What happens if a child from a poor family has a disease and needs a treatment which will cost a lot of money?

I also don't agree with Guacamole, for 1 simple reason, universal health care system doesn't leave private insureces appart. In Argentina there's both systems, and even another one, that is "Obras Sociales", that cover workers regitered in unions and retired workers.
Valeciano: When I said probably french invented the system, I mean't that cause they always have been so progressive, must have been them the ones that put it to work in a country, but anyway, I wasn't right, the first country to have a universal health care system was Germany around 1880, and for waht I been readiing Argentina emulated their system.

Spain with the second Republic in 1930 or around would be one of the firsts too
Anyway, thats a Keynesianism system ( Keynes was an economist), that agree with free market( capitalism) but withh publis health and good public educaction
You can see that system working good in Spain, France, Belgium i guess, Sweden, Finland, Germany etc..
