Subject: United States: Election Time

I would vote Ron Paul if I am US citizen :-)

I surely hope this will cost him his re-election.
Well Romney the capitalist par excellence is not the better choice for us in Europe.

LOL America needs George W. Bush! :)

Yeah to spend another billions on war.
Romney would be the better choice for the Americans, although Paul would be the best choice.

Yet Paul has no chance... unfortunately...

Romney would be the better choice for the Americans

bs

he obviously will stop liberal ideas, "socialism" and so on. plus he has a lot of ties with venture capitalists and so on. that is bad news for everyone in the US who earns less than 100k per year and the rest of the world.
I am not even talking about his "ideas" about abortion, gay marriage and so on.
he obviously will stop liberal ideas, "socialism" and so on.

That's exactly why he'd be the better choice (although both are bad) ;-)
Liberal ideas and certain social standards have been a constant developer for human civilizations over the past 2000 years.
Conservatism, religious rules and money-making at any cost have been the opposite in the past 2000 years.
Read about the romans, eastern roman empire, the middle ages (christian and islamic) and so on up until now. Pretty much every major thing that had to do with one of the things I mentioned. It ALL proofs my point, and people way more bright than me have proven it WAY BEFORE me.
Conservatism, religious rules and money-making at any cost have been the opposite in the past 2000 years.

Actually, the thing is that persuing wealth was also a key factor in the development of our society (protestantism). That you think people want to make money at any cost is your point of view, one I do not share.

I agree on the religious rules part, and if you consider conservatism as keeping to traditions etc. just because they are traditions, I agree on that too.

Believe me, I'm not a big fan of Romney, not at all. On a lot of important points, I do not share his opinions (for instance on gay marriage; gays should have the same rights as a straight couple, that's why I'd abolish public marriage for both). However, I consider him the slightly lesser evil of the two. (Given that I believe government is only a necessary evil that should be minimized as much as possible.)
(edited)
I was intentionally writing at any cost in a capitalist world money making is of course part of society, and there is noting bad about it.
But if ppl lower their human/society/religious/whatever the fuck else - standards to make money it gets ugly. For example slavery in the US till the 19th century, modern slavery all over the fucking planet, tulip mania (for the dutch among us), blablabla and so on.

I'm glad I'm not american because I wouldn't want Romney, Obama or Paul.
