Subject: Pmanager
I play pmanager and I'm of the opinion that it pretty much ... er, sucks.
It's tactical options are not that great really. They look little more than this:
My tactic for the last game:
You play without the offside trap.
You play applying normal pressure.
You don't play in counter attack.
You play with normal tackling.
At this moment you are playing with High Balls
At this moment you are not forcing One-on-Ones
Your Goal-Keeper preferably stands inside the goal.
No preferred side
The team captain is Hamilton Reusser
The penalty taker is Hamilton Reusser
The team is going to play with Normal attitude.
It's just a "pick options from a menu" thing.

TM? LOL... only the colours... all the rest is different!
and events? and tactics? You're talking about TA's... And seems like you pick them randomly... each one of them has positive things and negative things... why do you use normal pressure? do you know that offside trap is useful if you have defenders with great velocity and positioning? Each of this TA's depends of quality of your players! Isnt only pick from the menu... you have to analyse what are the good and bad things of your team and oposite team!
This is the advanced tactics. Take a look at the help to see what which one of this ATs means and learn which could you actually use against some opponent's. It's so simple as other managers, so you should spend a little more time than other managers, but it's not too complex at all.
For example, from this situation you described, you are using only High Balls, that will work if your players has more aerial and strengh than your opponent. Even if you don't have the perfect players for this AT, it will work against teams with weak aerial and strengh, if you study their games you might find those.
And you should do that for all ATs to know which one to use against who, and it's only the ATs, you have to adjust your positioning, style and events. Could you understand why simple to have better players mean less in PM?

Obviously. I don't recall saying otherwise. Setting the tactic invloves picking from a menu.
The point I'm making is that Sokker does not use a "pick & choose" system. You need to build the best tactic around the players you have etc. A better system? More complex? More freedom? More scope? More high-brow? Less restrictive? I think so. Sokker is superior to pmanager on the tactical front. But hey ... I still play pmanager - its "suck rating" is not low enough for me to kick it into touch.
I did pick those randomly and I did not analyse the players ... :)

This game sucks pretty much - I've had the ball for 96% time, and I've lost :))
Ball Posession is just a statistic made with the movement of the ball, the tactic matter of the game is completely away from this data. If you play the game, you should have learned it.
If you want the game to seem a bad game because you like more Sokker, you can make a lot more suppositions.
Well, I'd agree with you there in general, but 96% :)?

Weird numbers happen sometimes. Ball possession is irrelevant in PM for the tactical confrontation and the result of the game.
Cause possession means, the balls that you recover in defensive end! More balls you recover, more possession you'll have!!
because it's a random game? ;)
Randomness in Pmanager's ME is smaller than in any other game I know. It's about the third time I say it.

Ok - but I can say:
Randomness in Pmanager's ME is bigger than in any other game I know.
