It was rather 50-60 years ago :D 30 years ago the Hungarian NT wasn't a European top team; we were still playing in the World Cup, but without any serious success.

The first official match that Uruguay lost on an international competition (after the gold medals on 1924 and 1928, and the WC on 1930 and 1950) was against Hungary... 4 to 2 after extra time and several players of both teams injured on 1954 WC (remember that thos days changes weren't implemented).
That Hungary team lost against Germany in the following match, the final.

Thats true: Ferenc Puskas, Sandor Kocsis and one called Idegutcki (or something like that) played in that team.

That match 4-2 between Uruguay and Hungary was called the best World Cup match ever.

His name is Hidegkuti :)

Idegutcki souned like a Polish guy, I wondered for a moment if he was the first 'Podolski' of Poland. ;)

I really don't understand why italian federation doesn't care about this competition...best italian top 20 players play only in u21 squad
