I think that Arsenal should won more than 1-0, but victory is victory :)
Go Arsenaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaal!
Go Arsenaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaal!
Well, i see Ronaldinho more like a defensive forward, i think he doesn´t play much as midfielder or a playmaker like Maradona. He plays mostly for himself, with individual movements, like dribblings, and he is great a it, but isn´t a playmaker, and when he make a pass is almost always the same pass, he starts running with ball on 3/4 of opponents field, makes a diagonal to the centre of the field and pass when defense is coming out to leave the forward off-side, and always there is someone that come out late and the forward gets on-side.
Instead Maradona could dribble much better, like the goal against England or Belgium on Mexico ´86, like against you in Italy ´90(injured) when Cannigia scored on Taffarel´s goal. But also was a terrific playmaker always playing for his partners, giving assistances and creating associated plays.
Pele was, to me, oversized and also wasn´t a playmaker, he was mostly a strong skilled forward, very, very complete, both legs, header, strong phisique, but he played in slow times, where tactics weren´t very developed, like phisics and played supported by much better teammates than Maradona. I think that Maradona maked his teammates looked better than what they were, and Pele was enhanced by his teammates. Plus on level club Pele always played not only in not developed times, but also only in Brazil and USA, while Maradona played in Europe and his best times were in Italy, touhgest league in tactics and phisique. Plus he played with a poor team from the south(Napoli) and made it big, beating strong teams from the north, taking it to be champion of UEFA cup. I think about Pele like in Distefano, most of old people that saw Distefano they say: "WOW, what a great player, an all around player", but i see the old films and maybe was a great player, but there is no point of comparison. They played well(Pele, Distefano) they were the best of their times probably, but there is no point to compare.
P.S: Ronaldinho is a great player, but he doesn´t reaches Ronaldo´s ankles(the one from 7 to 10 years back).
I´ll stop the off-topic talk.
Bad!!! Villarreal lost, it´s gonna be really tough at Spain, any goal Arsenal would score is gonna make it to complicated. On the other hand Riquelme and Villarreal didn´t played well, so taking a 0 - 1 to the home match is not that bad, seeing how the match in England was.

Albitro has tooted terribly badly. And the yellow cards? it is that I was hopeless seeing the match. It has been a great robbery!
Albitros of the UEFA goes with those of home!

As long as they act the same next week... In that case 0-1 would be OK :P
It seemed like the judges likes the old offside thought "attacker gets ball and is alone=offside" in the Villereal-Arsenal game.
i'm not surprised about maradona using cocaine. he would not had that kind of energy he had when he was at his best.
Thing is Maradona wasn´t good because of his energy, was the best because of his talent, and none drug gives you talent. Plus he did´t played under cocaine effect but under it´s hangovers. You know drugs take you high, some of them might give you, like you said, a boost, but then the your system always tends to a balance, so after the drugs effects pass, you tend to feel without strengh, because of that balance, i´ve never tried drugs, but i guess it´s worst of what happens when you have alcohol hangover. Knowing that makes doing what Maradona did, even more difficult, cause he didn´t taked drugs before a match, he taked cocaine when partiying, at night. Not like Serie A players that taked or still take drugs to enhanced their systems, and never got supended.

Ok, maradona took drugs, but he was anyways a great player - in my opinion the greatest... a few sportsmen took cocaine - Jan Ullrich, Andreas Goldberger - but they are anyways big guys...
did I say that he was a bad player because of using cocaine ? no i didn't... it is just a fact of his life which i mentioned since we were talking about maradona
Goldberger did it to dancing stars - he must be a very big guy ;-)))
