its true, he WAS an icon because the last 20 years he didn't make any more good music

He was a legend and still has his mark on a lot of music styles (Hiphop, RenB, ...)... You can not overestimate his influence in the music of today... YOU are a person like any other :p

Yes, a good and famous singer, but only a singer.
I don't see any of you people mourning the death of the person who found cure for some sort of cancer, or for a Physics Nobel prize winner or a great teacher. A dreadful shame some of you will be upset over his death... your priorities are all screwed up!

Why is it impossible to mourn the passing of a great artist that dies to young and ( hope it does not happen ) the passing of a nobel peace price winner? You can do both.
