why do you make such a simple game so terribly complicated?:D

that was not meant directly to you but to all those variables and rules of different gametypes

You're playing quite high limits. What is your bankroll? Somewhere between $2000 and $4000, I'd guess. With how much did you start how long ago?

It's very important to know when you go down as long as you don't try to chase your losses.

Was in the wrong mindset today. 50-man tournament, down to the last 20 and I've got about 17000 of 75000 total and am placed 2nd. Now there aren't many set rules for tactics but one of the absolute main ones is you don't f**k with the chip leader unless you're almost certain to win. Common sense went out the window though and lost everything on one hand. Totally stupid of me. Then went into another game and did exactly the same thing again. Sometimes I just can't think straight.

It's very hard to fold in a situation like this, so I won't blame you. But a check-miniraise usually means a strong hand, or at least stronger than a pair.

Thanks. I'm going to pay more attention to check-minraises.

You have the independent chip model (ICM) for the final stages of tournaments, though I'm not sure whether this would be applicable in this situation as I don't know blind sizes.
