They've beaten France after penalty's. Our penalty-syndrome dates back from the 90's, lately we've gained some more confidence in that discipline ;-)
Germany through as well. At the moment their opponent will be decided.
I did watch the last bit of the game. My GF actually wanted to see it :P. It was very clear that the English were full pro's where the dutch still need a day time job besides soccer.

So the final will be Germany against England.
It seemed a bit, as if at this European championship there was a slight shift from the Scandinavean teams (usually very strong in womens football) towards the more traditional football nations (Italy, France, England, Netherlands).

It's great cause thanks to this tournament these Dutch ladies can go full time pro.
2 - 0 for Germany already and what a goal from far distance :)
Now it is 3:2 for Germany. Really interesting back and forth game.
In the end, England ran out of steam. They were a formidable opponent for the first hour or so. Especially their attack was excellent, ripping apart the German defense several times.
But then they lost their power, while Germany just kept coming, without slowing down.

Germany is clearly the best in Europe, no question about that. Congrats. But there are other countries professionalizing soccer for women as we speak. It will get much more interesting from now.
any belgian knows what shape women's soccer is in Belgium? I know the women of Standard are 'pretty good', but what does it mean on the european level?
