Subject: Religions and sects

I think it would be fun for a while. There'd be no more religious conflict, now would there? ;)

Seriously though, since religion would no longer exist, people would start looking for alternatives, non-religious beliefs and faiths. Unless all of humanity gets united behind 1 single, Borg from Star Trek-like ideal, we will fight over them as well. And that defeats the whole purpouse of getting rid of religion in the first place.
So basically, we're codemned/blessed with religions, aren't we? :)

Yes, the marxist opium will be always available for people, no matter their belief. It will be called Religion, Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, God, Ceausescu or some Chinese Mao-I-Don't-Know-How.

i dont know any other city in Turkey, but in my city, there are so many Christians, Jewishes and Nusayris because they live together, people in my city doesnt care what i believe.

what if someone borns with homosexual tendencies? his inner Jihad begins. Islam is all about it. struggling. choosing between two paths. either you choose the path to heaven or path to hell. you have desires but you also have the knowledge about the consequences of your actions. and you're totally free to choose. if you do whatever you desire, what's the point of being tested? you might say ''God created me this way, i can't help, i'm a homosexual''. being homosexual is one thing, having homosexual intercourse is another thing. Devil convinces us that we can’t avoid sin. Yes we can! :)

let me tell you a joke. a man immigrates from USA to Afganistan. Afgan people ask him ''why did you leave the land of the free, the land of the brave America with all the money and with all those nice things and everything you want and you came here?’'' he said: when i was a young man homosexuality was a crime. when i grew up, they made homosexuality lawful. in fact they made it a crime to dislike homosexuals and called it homofobia. i was afraid if i stayed there any longer they would make it compulsory :)) i think you got my point.

as for animals.. if we judged our behaviours on the basis of what animals do, our wives would kill and eat us after having sexual intercourse because black widow spiders do so :))

My personal experience of live is to be atheist. Why ? I'll try to explain :-)

First of all, i was born catholic child as all my family... When i went to school, we learnt the Bible... I felt interested but something turn wrong with my view of life... I also try to learn other religions among all : islam, boudhism, animism... With no right answer for my own life... When i was young adult, i learnt science at university with a high level in chemistry... I did not find my way too... Thus, i finally my way in making psychoanalysis for few years... I learnt more about myself and life than before...

What i understand ? That i only believe in me, in my hopes, in my doubts, i laugh at my life, i enjoy breathing, sleeping, working, playing, crying... I live here not hoping anything after my death...
I had a nice dialog with my sister-in-law who really faithfull... She asked me : what if you find God after your death... I answered : I feel surprise and happy because i do not know him, that will be new into this new after-life... And i asked here : what if there is nothing after life and you could undertand that... Then she felt very bad into her heart trying to view this futuer after-life... That's the main reason i do not see interest into my life to see, to believe into something like a God.

What i understand more ? (that's not say it is the Thruth but it is mt thruth and it is more important) Religions are helpful to ancestors to survive into the hostile world of wild and terrfic animals or natural dangers... First of all, i can understand that the Sun could be the first God for humanity : sunshine warm your body, you can see the world, it can help you to make fire, make grow flowers, trees... And the night without sunshine, is really terrific... You see nothing, you only hear the world, you are cold... Thus, hunmans hope the see Sun the day after to be in peace with their heart... The Earth as the Soil was thought as a God too first with the quality to help humans in their lives... Thus, with growing of consciousness of humanity, they little by little put their fears and hopes into other things like animals : Bear, Lion, Elephant, Crocodile etc... Moreover, at the same time, the consciousness of their own death was growing in their mind thus they needed to find some way to separate life from death with first graves to keep an eye on ancestors, to think about them... Thus some ideas about after life was surely coming to know if ancestors could guide them into their life...
Then humanity grew more and more and needed at some places to be structured like communities to leave together... You saw appear some rules to give security for humans called religions and found differents way of acting in our life with those differents religions (all of we know now)... Finally appeared few centuries ago a new religion : Science who tried and try to replace believes given by all the religions... History, geography, universe, were used to find the fundamental questions of humans : who are we ? Where do we come from ? And where will we go ? But, for me, Sicence does not give more answer, he only give another way of vision of the world using logical items more than mystic items...

Finally, all that views did not give solution to my life excepted ot understand my ancestors lifes and fears and hopes...
My only aim in life is to find some happiness in some moments in my life... Diyng is in my life and i'm ready to dead now if my time has come... Insects could begin their work to make life continue or not on earth... i'm nothing in this world and i'm the most important person in my life.

I'm just alive and i'm happy :-)

Just one last words i worte some day on my book : Be born to Learn, Learn to Understand, Understand to Know, Know to Love and Share with someone else and Die so that someone could replace me.

In the Bible it says that homosexuality is a sin as well, but luckily, at least in the Netherlands, a lot of christians don't consider it to be wrong. It's called tolerance. Try to learn to live with people who are different instead of enforcing your own ethnocentric belief upon people. :)

if there's tolarance for sin (not for sinner, we're all sinners and every sinner can convert), somebody cannot consider himself as a christian.

Not tolerance for sin, but tolerance for other people's lifestyle, sexuality, beliefs etc..
It depends on how literal you take the bible, how you interpret it. Do you mindlessly take every word serious and as an absolute truth, or do you think about it and talk or discuss about it with other people.

and you think why in some religions there are religious texts? they are source of beliefs and faith's truths.

@Mithos well that is one problem of religion. You cannot say that one part of the bible is wrong, because it is believed to be the word of god. So it has to be a) absolutely right or b) a fake.
I never met one guy that was religious and still saw that even if the source would have been the word of god that humans did write it down, part of it many years after the events happened. And that this humans could have brought something else, something human into the book.
