It's more credible than no source whatsoever.
Also:

Wiki says that langhe is gay.

Just proves Wiki is correct.

Very.
2009-07-12 19:11:37
I don't use Wikipedia to prove something, but to explain something.

By the way, your statement is false as it's incorrect to say that everything on Wikipedia is wrong.
2009-07-12 19:22:28
The sources that Wikipedia uses are in fact very credible.
2009-07-12 19:32:43
Indeed. It's almost as reliable as 'real' encyclopedias, as shown .
2009-07-13 18:50:47
I didn't say everything on wiki is wrong...
2009-07-13 18:51:37
nature is the least credible journal, but okay ;)
2009-07-13 18:53:33
I didn't say everything on wiki is wrong...

Then why did you consider that proving something with wiki is wrong?
2009-07-13 19:05:35
They call it "evidence based". Scientific blabla lol.
edit: and read the ^^ too.

Actually I wasn't trying to prove anything, but you stated that the universe wouldn't keep expanding and I linked to an article which told that scientists don't agree yet (=not known);)

I am a Zoroastrian.
Zoroastrianism is the oldest religion in the world which started thousands of years before Christianity. It's country of origin was Persia, now known as Iran, although at that time Persia stretched from Egypt to China and from the Ural mountains down to the Indian Ocean.

There are 3 basic principles to Zoroastrianism: good thoughts, good words and good deeds.
When we pray we pray either facing a fire or the Sun. Some fires in our temples have been burning for over 2000 yrs. Our holy book is called the Zend Avesta.
We don't cremate or bury our dead. Instead we allow vultures to feed on our corpses in specially designed towers called "The Towers of Silence" which are in the middle of forests. This seems very horrific to many people but not to us as we are very fond of animals and nature. In this manner, we feed hungry birds and our remains turn into fertiliser for the forest.

We fled Persia in the 5th century when Muslim invaders forced us o convert to Islam or else we were killed. Most fled by sea and landed up in India where we were allowed to stay only if we agreed to 10 conditions. To this day we still keep those 10 promises and have thrived economically.
We believe in quality and not quantity. Unfortunately, this has caused our numbers to dwindle and there are less than 100,000 of us left in the world.

Some famous Zoroastrians:
Zubin Mehta : He is probably the most well known philharmonic conductor in the world. He's conducted the Munich, Vienna, Los Angeles, New York, London and Israel Philharmonic Orchestras to name a few.

Ratan Tata: The current scion of the Tata empire. This family started off by making steel. Now everything they touch turns to gold. Ratan Tata is the Chairman of Tata enterprises which happens to own the Taj Mahal chain of hotels as well as Land Rover and Jaguar among others.

Freddie Mercury: I'm sure I don't need to tell you'll how famous he is. The former lead singer of Queen was actually born in Bombay. Ironically he fled from India as his music was not appreciated at the time and neither was his lifestyle.

I am a religious person but I am a firm believer in science as well. In fact there are lots of times when I think God is just a figment of our imagination. Someone whom we can blame when things go wrong or someone to whom we credit with "miracles" when we can't understand the science behind something. Then again we are also to be blamed as we created these Gods and not the other way around. The fault lies in our interpretation of our holy scriptures, which incidentally was written by us and not by the "Gods". How many wars have we fought in the name of our Gods??

"Some fires in our temples have been burning for over 2000 yrs."

How'd you know?

"Instead we allow vultures to feed on our corpses in specially designed towers called "The Towers of Silence" which are in the middle of forests."

This is so cool:)

"Instead we allow vultures to feed on our corpses in specially designed towers called "The Towers of Silence" which are in the middle of forests."

Afaik it is not allowed to that here in The Netherlands, otherwise I'd want this after I'm gone.

You never came over to my house and took a look at my backyard, it seems.

Zoroastrian sound very interesting. Thank you, Hoodibaba!
I think the idea of Towers of Silence it's a good way to understand the dead. Indeed, in other countryes could do that too.

I have a question: What are this 10 conditions?

Very interesting, where can i find out more about your religion??
