i'd say chicken

The egg only can become a chicken if it is fertilised. Which means that you need at least 2 chickens. Besides that, evolution can create animals, like a chicken, but no eggs.

Actually evolution can create anything you want. All vertebrates use eggs in their reproduction and they have done this for millions of years, far before the existence of the chicken.

If we say that a chicken is a product of evolution (and not a supernatural creation) than there's some point in history where there would have been the first chicken. From this point of view its mother wasn't a chicken. We would not classify its mother as a chicken while we would classify this first chicken.
This first chicken was carried by prehistoric egg. The question is what we do consider this egg to be. Is it a chicken's egg because it carried a chicken? Or wasn't it because it wasn't laid by a chicken and therefore can't be considered a chicken's egg (it's obvious why we can't consider the first chicken to be a chicken's baby).
