5-7 teams will be fighting for medals and champ will be great.

Maybe you want to say Mazutis? This year we dont have Gustas, he sucks anyways, Mazutis too, even Kalnietis... we dont gave good pg except Jasikevicius ofcorse... vs Spain we won whitout any true point guard (Mazutis was injured and Kalnetis had family trouble that day). We play better whitout them xD

Zydrunas Ilgauksas will play?

Like always, no... But this year it isnt problem, we have enough tall guys, problem is whit guards..

btw what is Latvian press/people opinion about Lithuanian coach Kemzura :) ?

Good luck men, Baltic countries always had good basket. When I was young, I remember Kurtinaitis and Sabonis, WOW!!! Great players!

Kurtinantis now is assistant coach in Lithuania ^^ Last year he won all possible title wiht Lietuvos Rytas that had very poor budget... i hope this will be good sign.

After two games Latvia - Lithuania, i think both countries are on same level!

I dont know, its hard to compare... i knew that we will loose at least one time vs Latvija, no mater what team we have and what team you have we fight very hard each time... If you remeber on 2003 first game was Latvija vs Lithuania, we won just after extra time, but after that we easily won rest games and won eurobasket, Latvija didnt made out of group that time, few years ago wiht Saras, Kaukenas, Songaila, Siskauskas we also lost in Riga after last second 3pointer :) So will see, i just hope we wont meet until final :P

But on final, than will be awesome :D

I hope Poland will be the biggest suprise of this tournament. We have the best team since 10 years or maybe even more time with Gortat on center.

I hope Spain reaches the finals...

I can not wait today's game, Latvia against Europe champions russia. I hope Latvia surprise them, because every game is important to us.

I think it´s very likely you win them. Russia is missing some of their best players. I will definitely put my money on you.

Here are my prediction for the tournament.

GROUP A

1. Greece
2. Croatia
3. F.Y.R. of Macedonia
4. Israel

Macedonia and Israel will decide who will be third team in qualification round, tough decision - Ilievski won´t play, but I think they can make it anyway.

GROUP B

1. France
2. Latvia
3. Russia
4. Germany


Probably the most exciting group, extremely hard to predict the best three teams. But if there is no Nowitzki, then no chances for Germany. I think Latvia might surprise this time everybody, but will see.

GROUP C

1. Spain
2. Slovenia
3. Serbia
4. Great Britain

Shame that Deng and Gordon won´t play for GB, otherwise they might surprise, but with the current squad I think they will have no chances against others. Spain clearly the favourite. Slovenia would also be on of the biggest favourites if they would get all their stars together, however current team is good enough to get far.

GROUP D

1. Lithuania
2. Turkey
3. Poland
4. Bulgaria

Poland vs Bulgaria, probably the most important game for both sides - I playing at home helps poles to get that third place.

I'll be watching Spain and Srbija[not against eachother unfortunately] live, got the tickets :-)
