I believe that it(he,she) refers to every America in general because in the topic there has not written anybody who is an American north, but of all forms none is neither a stupid or them of America either of the north or every America in general

Well usually if an european refers to "americans" then they only mean people from the USA and nobody else. I never heard "americans" as term for every inhabitant of the american continent, although now that you mention it, it would probably make more sense.

It is true what your you say almost always the word is in use Americans for the persons of north America, but I think that it this one badly because America is a continent and not a country, I say that they must refer as Americans to all the inhabitants of America, not of UNITED STATES

well, i personaly refer the americas to the US and south america.
