LOL

Honestly, the level of ignorance presented by some people here is unbelievable.

I don't mean to start this as a debate about kids' education nowadays, but if a teenager can be an expert in online RPG games and at the same time the only he/she knows about Columbia is the word Cocaine or about France to say Zidane, that is extremely sad.

[...and it's NOT because the title says "First thoughts..."]

Its about the first thing that pops up in your head not about deep thoughts

And Italy is only pasta, pizza and godfather. This topic isn't a challenge on who have a better knowledge of the world, it's a simple brain storming.

and yes, it's because the title says "First thoughts...", not tell me what do you know about those country.

Ronny, look at the comments in Italics at the bottom of my last post. I know it's about 'first thoughts' and NOT "deep thoughts", but still... how about some creativity, some knowledge...
:)

Take two countries for example; Columbia and Belgium. There is so much more to both these countries than drugs and paedophiles and if this is what comes into people's minds as first thoughts, it IS sad and also ignorant, because those people should know there are far more interesting and important things to say about these two countries.

@zambra - I have visited many of these countries and know that there is more to them than "first thoughts" but even if I haven't visited them I know more to say than just the first copycat word that comes to my mind. It seems as if "first thoughts" and "brain storming" is used as an excuse for not thinking. I don't want to turn this into a discussion or debate and simply noted how repetitive and superficial some responses are, maybe people should try to say other things?... Please feel free to continue saying whatever you want for each country even if it's only Pasta for Italy and stay happy with it. :)

yep it is

But eg Israel: First thought 'always war' they have been being busy for over 3000 years

and then other things start to pop up like Jerusalem: city of the 3 religions; a nice irrigation plan of which i forgot the name; a melting pot of many cultures; high-tech army;..

But the rules of the game say: first thought so i put my first thougt being 'war'

And if you call belgium a land of chocolates, waffles and paedophiles
yeah well if you thought as i did and found another 3 possible options but because you had to follow he rules of the game you have put the first, it's all right for me =)

OK... no intention here to spoil your fun :)

I think you got it mixed up. Hamlet is from Denmark, not Norway :P

@Terekeme: No, he said "How the f*** do you know Edo Maajka".
2010-01-05 12:41:44

Aqua is Danish too :p

Your entire list is pathetic, go back to school and start again.
2010-01-05 12:50:29
it was a joke :D
2010-01-05 12:51:47
Oh come on. It's about first thoughts. If I were to think about what I know about each country and then consider what would be the most contemplated thing to write it would take days - if not longer.
2010-01-05 12:59:23
I guess he's resentful 'cause everyting wrote war or something connected about Israel.
2010-01-05 13:04:01
I was impressed at your post too, but then I realised that couldn't be your first thoughts about those countries. I can do better than link 'coffee' to every south american country as well, but that wasn't the idea of this topic ;)

Maybe if someone opened 'what do you know about countries' we can all write balanced paragraphs about each country and show off our education:)

and andorra is not where you put it:)
