let's not forget that pinochet was america-backed, especially by the revered Milton Friedman, a criminal in my view.

Yeah, right. It's pretty hard to point a historical figure to a nowadays country in my opinion. Charles V can be seen as the king of Spain, Austria, Netherlands, Holy Roman Empire, so ... but he was born in Ghent, no doubt about that! ;-) But he was the son of an Austrian and a Spanish. He's 'just' a member of the House of Habsburg, which is ( probably ) the most important ( together with Saxe-Coburg and Gotha ) royal house in the history of Europe.
