Im planning to make a trip through all the western Europe and I choose interrail ticket which allow me to travel to 30 countries in Europe by one ticket. A lot of European citizens appreciate that freedom that comes from ticket. All the informations you can get here on official site :

I would be very grateful if someone tell me something about this kind of travelling. Maybe anyone will travel this summer by this ticket and want to join me, im going to visit Amsterdam, Paris, London, Nicea, Madrid, Barcelona, Milan. I planned to start my trip in first week of September.

Cheers Maciek.

I did it when I was 18 years old (18 years ago!) with some friends, it was very nice.
Only a couple of advices:
1) try to travel long journeys during the night so that you can sleep on the train and save the cost of hotels. For instance, we did Italy-Madrid during the night, then Spain-Paris during the night etc.
2) As soon as you arrive in a new city go quickly to the tourist office in order to find a good accomodation for the night. However now things are different because you can book hotels via internet in advance :)

Yes i read about sleeping in night trains, it may be good option. I dont want to book my hostels, that trip should be very spontanuesly. I read that the most of hostels have access to internet so I couldn't have problems with trains and accomodation.

How about your feelings from the trip? Im 19 years old and I really want to visit all of western Europe, Im curious about Europe :)

What's the price of this ticket? :)
2010-03-21 17:12:06
It's depend of your age and how many days you want to travel. All the informations about prices are here : http://www.interrail.net/polski/oplata.php

I choose to buy a 22-day ticket for ~300 euros.

It's something I want to do but I'm too busy at the moment and I won't go on my own.

I did it several years ago, we went from Germany to France, Spain, then Marocco and back again. If you sleep in youth hostels in dorms with a lot of people its pretty cheap. You just have to be able to sleep next to someone snoring... ;-)

Is it easy to book a place in a dorm during the summer? Would be a nice trip...:)

Via internet or by phone, no problem to book a dorm :)

I interrailed in Poland, Czech Rep., Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia and Croatia 10 years ago. It was great fun! Do your best to find a local guide (maybe someone here on Sokker) in every city. In Budapest everything was very expensive and difficult until we met up with a local friend. He helped us get discounts etc. for restaurants, trains, etc. because he could speak Hungarian ;-)

Stop by and say hi if you come to Aalborg, Denmark :-)

Oh, it's important to have a connections in diffrent cities :D Im not planning to stop in Denmark but thanks :)

in any case good idea, but still if you know someone for loner time over sokker not to hard to get together and all...we have often some mini sokker meetings in Croatia, personaly I have met 10 or so users...
2010-03-22 21:18:56
you met those people because you wine so much that they think you're a girl...
2010-03-22 21:20:36
yes and when they meet me they always seem supprised :)
2010-03-22 21:50:01
