I know what PPP is mate, I'm studying economics. And btw, form your link:

Purchasing power parity (PPP) is a theory of long-term equilibrium exchange rates based on relative price levels of two countries.

I do know the difference between PPP and CPI ( Consumer Price Index ).

But anyway greece is very small country, im just wondering what if they didnt get the olympics

that's a point! it was the most crucial moment in greek economy.
2010-05-05 22:40:35
The mistake is that we didn't take advantage of organizing the Olympics, a lost chance for Athens to follow the bright example of Barcelona
2010-05-06 00:13:19
crucial in the bad sense?
2010-05-06 09:20:46
In every possible sense, but it turned out to be only in a negative way, yes.

I work 5 days a week, 8 hours a day and I don't get paid for any overtime which I oftenly must do.
I'll retire on the age of 67 and I'm UNPAID for 3 MONTHS!!!

Should I be on strike or not??
What are your statistics about working hours etc.

Of course I'm against striking this very moments but my point is to warn you, STOP BELIEVING THE NEWS

It's unbelievable how selfish Greec people are at this moment. The rest of the world is helping them out. Screw the 1 example that you gave me. Ofcourse there are always examples where things are 'unfair'. Look at it from the country's perspective and you will soon realize you have no choice and no chance. Things are going to change, if you don't accept the new regulations you will all loose your job and your life standards. So striking is just making it worse, if you like it or not.
2010-05-06 12:01:34
Let me rephrase my words!!!

I'M AGAINST STRIKING AT THIS VERY MOMENT!!! (is that clear now???)
It's time to concetrate and keep working in order to make things right.

How can you judge all the people living in Greece by 1 day of striking?

And it's time for a stupid question in order to prove that your thought is wrong...

If they say that for the next one month every single worker in Greece won't be paid, according to you there should be no strike??

I just say that the NEWS for their own personal and national interests exaggerate the situation in Greece. Of course we are thankful for helping but that doesn't mean that we won't demonstrate against our government and their past
Although it wouldn't be smart ( and I wouldn't do it ), I can understand the strikers. But what I saw yesterday wasn't a strike, it was madness ...
2010-05-06 12:12:20
What are you referring to as madness? The 120k people (in Athens only) who demonstrated massively?
2010-05-06 12:22:03
No, that is what I can understand. Burning banks which kills three people I can't. The images of I saw on the news yesterday, it were like savages ...
150k on strike 30 pep burning pep. dont put everyone in the same group. also havvin 1-20 pep doin those things (exept the killin part) is "normal" here .
