I am not kidding you but I understand why you might think so. I know many people that are immoral and are able to not feel guilty about it because they see all people as immoral. Such people usually accuse me of lying and kidding when I speak about my moral values.

Politician is an occupation as any else. You can have a corrupted postman just as you can have a corrupted politician. Corruption is a matter of family upbringing and personal choices, not occupation. OK, pornostar is an exception to that but I don't consider that a real occupation. More like a legalisation of personal moral colapse.

Stil, it is true that you can prostitutize yourself in any occupation but that is a matter of personal choice and not all people take the same choices.

Immoral? I'm not immoral, as immorality is a personal attitude I use it in my personal life.
Again do not mix personal things with political and economical.

When you play chess you kill the king. are you immoral?
when you play football you make foul, are you immoral?

It is important to understand the rules of the game we are playing!

el pupe as you told, nobody wants from Italy to pay back whole debt. You should just lower it and make such a state policy that in maybe 20 years you will be able to meet Mastrichts criteria :-)

So morality is personal? You just be nice to your friends and family, and you are allowed to cheat or even kill in business. Just great. Please, remind me, what country was mafia invented in? :D

So, borrowing money you refuse to pay back even though you have assets is according to the rules? Great. I wonder how many creditors didn't know that rule. Shame on them. :D

Outsmarting someone in economy by being more productive or more inovative is "killing the king". Penetrating a market with damping prices is "making a foul" which you then get a penalty for and you accept and pay it. But these are all examples of complying with the rules. Refusing to pay back your debt and keeping your assets is not playing by the rules. That's called cheating, mister. But fortunately you can't get away with it either. There is a rule for cheaters too. :D

I'm a strong supporter of limited democracy - though I don't know if there's such a thing, or I made it up.

Actually current democracy is already a limited one [we don't really have an impact on the decisions made by the governments], but my idea is to have a democracy in which you have to pass a certain test to be able to vote.

For example you need to answer simple questions, like who was the last prime minister, is the country a religious or a secular one, what is a flat tax, explain what the UN, EU etc. are. + simple questions about the party beliefs.
I feel that there would be lots of those who would fail such a test, which would mean that they should not vote because they have no idea what they're doing.

What we have now is more or less a stupid popularity contest and there is nothing that infuriates me more concerning politics than encouraging people to go and vote 'because that's their duty to do so'. BS, it's not their duty, it's their privilege - and when they actually go and vote [some don't even know who they'll vote when they're on their way to the election booths!!!!] they simply HARM the democracy because what they do is not democratic voting, but simply a random+media made choice.

same as my opinion, so two opinions are proof that it can work :-)
STOP THIS PROPAGANDA!THATS ENOUGH.germany has 10 times more debt than GREECE.Italy tha same. But from a lot of time ago they were hiding their debts.Germany owns to Greece 700 billion euros and nobody says something.Greece has the most small debt in Europe.Greece will pay his debt but noone can come to my coyntry and forced me to do he want. And i will not pay overtaxes from the money we took from europe but the real debt and not fake overtaxes..of the debt..Also no Germany and not other country will force Greece to do what they want to do and cut wages to old people and other anti social meters,.RUBINHO the crise will come to you also. And you didnt know it yet!

a religious or a secular one

bufff i see huge, really huge differences on mentality, from east europe to: north, west or south

i want nothing bad to yours as a country...but if someone ask my opinion, i prefer east europeans countries out of EU, at least most of them, at least for many years..

i dotn want my country on a club where dozens of its counties are still thinking what system but democracy can be better, or how religious "our country is" mmmmmmmm i dont like old mind thinking

each time i see minds from old communist countries i like less communism

If something doesn't work then it is worth thinking about different approaches and sorry, but I don't care what Spanish, Portuguese, British or whatever people think - we have right to work on our political playground. We're not trying to tell you what you should do, why are you concerned with what we do in our country when it does not affect your one? Seriously, that is weird.

And why thinking and discussing the religiousness of a country is old mind thinking? Our country is a laic one by constitution but we still lose lots of money because of tax-free church [around 1.000.000.000 euro- that's quite a big sum yearly], through some odd decision the church is able to purchase grounds for very low prices etc. I'm not catholic, my country by definition is not catholic [and if you look at reality not statistics, then you'll see that it is not catholic in reality as well] - why should they be a parasite, why shouldn't they function like any other company?

you are failing in doing a simple operation.
morality is for men. Not for countries.

At a man behavior you can apply a moral value. That is personal, but exist!
At a country decision you simply can not. It is stupid.

When you do an example of people borrowing money and not paying it back you do a WRONG example, it has nothing to do with public debt. When you say killing in business you do again a wrong example,
if is a man that kill in business he's a killer
if is a country that kill in business it's a liberator and a democracy carrier

You just can't fail to see the differences.

PS:
creditors knows the risk to have not their money back, there's no gain without risk!

According to that we could say that the massacre of Jews by nazi Germany was not morally bad, it just was. Do you agree with that?
2011-11-11 13:28:13
why should they be a parasite,

So, anyone financed from government budget is a parasite?

why shouldn't they function like any other company?

Because they are not a company running a business. Do you know that priests do not have their own assets? Do you know they give up their possessions? How is that simmilar to business people? Should they receive salary bonuses for exceeding funerals and weddings production plans? :D
