Subject: »PIIGS - economics problems
You know, you get chemistry, biology, maths, languages, etc. at school. So why doesn't everyone gets classes in economics?
I work 5 days a week, 8 hours a day and I don't get paid for any overtime which I oftenly must do. I'll retire on the age of 67 and I'm UNPAID for 3 MONTHS!!!
Same here, except the 3 months unpaid part. And i do not strike. Should i?

And Estonia has one of the booming economies in Europe :-)
"It's like it is possible that there are no elections in Belgium because the constitution says the election law has to change first. It's a doom scenario that is there to give some limits to the system (and as such, give it its credibility), but it'll never come so far.
Iceland, Estonia? Probably some other countries who were unofficially bankrupt, but we bailed them out.
Only when no other country has interests to protect in that country, it can go bankrupt. Other than that, no chance... "
Estonia was not bankrupt and will not be under this government lead by Reform party. Will will soon join the Euro Zone. Are we boarding a sinking ship :D? Latvia was bankrupt.

anyway, point made.
IF it happens to happen that a country 'technically' goes bankrupt, they'll fix it and shut up about it. The system works.

Hungary had to do something like you should do. Our government erased the 13th month pensions completely, and they did the same with the 13th wage in the public sector.
The average salary is a tricky one. If many people are trying to hide their money, the average will be lower, although they obviously aren't that poor that they are showing to the country.
Your politicians are corrupt... now what? Show me one country where don't exist corrupt leaders... :P
edit: I work at least 6 days a week, average 40 hours per week - and I get 250 € :D No, I'm not striking; it wouldn't help.

Why was greece in the news anyway? Iceland was barely in the news. Estonia wasn't that much either. And I think they only mentioned Latvia's problems once. Why all the hubub about greece?
MAYBE...
because...
come on conspiracy theories!

corrupt is one thing. Incompetent is another:p
Because Estonia and Latvia's problems are not that big in comparison to the one of Greece. And Iceland is not big, and not in EU.
it's good to know there's simple answer to most of these questions.
has nothing to do with tommorow strike.
read one of my posts some pages before.

Well, it's your press' fault :D Iceland and Latvia were many times in the Hungarian news. Such as Greece, Spain, and Romania... and all the European countries which have economical problems right now.
Where you heard that Estonia has any problems ? Yes, our economic came down and people got unemployed but it all was just because of world overall economic problems (almost all countrys felt that) , but I don`t see any serious problems. Our country debt is only some billions, best in europe I think.
The answer you are looking for is called speculation...
Okay. You want to get out of the current sh*t and keep everything you've earned in the last 5-10 years. Well, that won't work. Either you'll stay in the middle of trouble (and go deeper) or you'll lose things. Yes, that means you'll get less money. No, you can't do anything against it, if you want to keep Greece as a functioning country.
