believe me, its like wearing sun glasses in the night club, u think ure cool, but ure not.... it takes a while to get it... ive been there i know it...
It doesn't matter if you think they are cool or not. Actually it matters quite a lot, while some market share thinks that the other market share is not cool at all, you are actually helping in the marketing campaign and helping Apple. They don't care about you, they care about the guys that think that sunglasses in a night club are cool. And usually those type of guys actually enjoy when other people points at them, it makes them feel cooler :).
At one point Mac is "winning" the market they want to earn. Haven't you thought of the profit they make selling overpriced machines?? Lets face it, below that white and nice envelop, is the same shit as Intel, but people are willing to pay more. That is clever, at least. They don't care about lowering their prices so they can compete with Microsoft, if that was the case, they will lower their prices, instead, the new versions of Ipod, Ipad, IShit eveyrthing are always the same price as the one befor, but they are always adding new "cool features" (whether they are cool or not it is not important, because they make a good marketing campaign and the guys with sunglasses in the night clubus believe in that marketing campaign.
When Droid and Nexus came here at a fraction of what an Iphone costs, they didn't do anything, they simply releases a new Iphone with ALMOST THE SAME FUNCTIONALITY as the previous one, they made a couple of campaigns. Guess who sold more phones??? Mr Steve Jobs.

Not really, it essentially just proves that Apple is smart.
We all have reasons for using something. Some have stupid reasons other don't. The ones that uses Mac because the consider the OS substantially better that Microsoft, and think that those extra hundred bucks are worth to be paid, are going to keep buying Apple with or without marketing.
The ones that want to buy a Mac because they need to feel cool, they consume what the market says it is cool, and Apple is quite smart at defining what is cool and what's not.

the think is, 'cool' is not common, and mac is common, so its not cool anymore... it was, but its over
and now they are a bit more expensive and have a much smaller chance to crash or contain virusses than Windows
If Mac is not better than Microsoft, why does almost the entire music and design/graphical industry uses them?
because there are some very good design applications on mac.
but for the average user, microsoft is better. (price, compabilitie with a lot of aplications and you have more or less a standard to exchange files with other persons)

By the way your statement is very stereotypical and overexagerated ;-) :-p as AVID is used for professional editing (just like final cut) same with music programs, and adobe or maya/3d max are used for graphic design on PCs, too... the general point being, both systems are good, for ohter things, apple limits your choices, microsoft doesn't. And no matter what the system the physical machine from apple will always be overpriced, thus a equal value 'Personal Computer' with the more open system (windows) will be 'better' in performance choices.
More choices, more human errors are possible too, unfortunately...

There is no such thing as which is better. You can't say that a computer or a program is better than the other. You can say that it suits your needs better. So for one Apple is the right choice and for the other Microsoft, or Linux, or Solaris or whatever.
This should not be only mac vs. pc discussion looking at the thread name, but generally the way these companies operate, there are a alot of products branded or made by them (ipad, ipod, iphone, itunes, zune, xbox, kin, a lot of different software by ms...).
General trend with those stuff is that Apple products almost always lack some basic things (ipad has no usb ports and flash support, iphone has no memory card slot, videocalls, mms and radio etc.) but they have fancy design, they are very well hyped and they sell for a lot more than building costs (~200€ to make ipad and it is ~500€ in retail).
MS on the other hand has slightly different strategy, offering good value products to mainstream users for reasonable prices (xbox, windows home premium, office home and student) and charging more to poeple buying high end versions of windows, office and xbox accesories.
In the end difference is not too big, their goal is to make huge piles of money, but I like MS way of work more.

Microsoft are scum. If you're wondering why Apple are so expensive you can blame Microsoft for their anti-competition processes which raise the prices of any other company.
