You`re too young too remember? Pele was a tough one. That Maradonna was a tragic figure has nothing to do with his playing and there he was one of the best. Better then Pele. But it`s a short period of time we look at. What was if Walter plays the whole time or Zimmermann played in the TV times?

One. Both you and Juan have stated who was the best or who was better. I simply stated in MY OPINION Pele was the best. To state Maradona was better than Pele is a little bit arrogant of you, you can have that opinion it doesn't make it right or wrong it's just an opinion.

But if you mean do I prefer great footballers to not be cheating little b......ds who then say it was what God wanted, then yes. Maradona was not a tragic figure, he was self obsessed with an exaggerated view of his importance. Even recently he ran over a journalist's leg in his car and just shouted "what the bloody hell are you doing there!!??" And just drove off. If i saw him any sort of trouble I'd just walk on by.

You know I've taken another look at the German Midfield and as much as i hate to admit, i think you are right. I'm still not convinced by Marin though, i think he's simply too small. However Özil will probably be Germany's main weapon and could have a good tournament. A lot of people see Khedira as 'the new Ballack," not seen it myself but i'm keeping an open mind. Kroos yep in the first half of the season he was very good at Leverkusen. Schweinsteiger a good player but imo certainly not world class as some see him. In fact Germany's midfield is probably it's strongpoint. My dislike of the German national team clouded my judgement here!!

what about frings and trachowski? they are both quality imo.

Frings was one of the best on his position in 2006, but is 33 and to slow now and he 's got problems with Löw, so he wont be nominated anymore. Trochowski is at the team but he had a very bad season. I personaly like him and do thought the last seasons that he will break through, but he 's got problems with his attitude. Marin is offensively much better on the wing at the moment, but as weak as Trochowski in defense.

Marin to small for what? Do you know his position? What does a wing need height for? ;)

Why should it hurt and why do you tell it to me? I already admitted that height isn't important at specific positions. At some point spain had to win a big tournament. Spain can't always loose at knockoutstage with big teams. But since this will be a worldcup and no euro, it should be time again... ;)

Yep. Totally agree. Trochowski is the most annoying(especially as a Hamburg fan) he's been absolute pants all season. Don't know why, he's certainly talented enough, i suspect he had issues with Labbadia.

I can't believe he's taking Veron, I thought that guy retired. Riquelme would have been a much better choice but Maradona had to go an piss him off.

He is playin good in Estudiantes, they were american champions in 2009 and they at seconds of being world champion the same year, Barcelona draw the match within seconds to the end.

Anyway, he doesn't play the same postition that Riquelme plays, Riquelme is a pure offensive mid whilst Veron is a mix mid, he helps in defense. But even if he is playin good, and I have to admit it, I don't like he's playin style, I never did. :P

Well, lets say it's debatable ;) Anyway, I like Cruyff and Ronaldo(the brazilian 1) much better than Pele. ;)

About Marin, I've never seen him play, don't know if he played againt us in the last friendly that Germany and Argentina played, but you got to remember a great and small mid Germany had during the late 80s and 90s, that is Thomas Hassler, he wasn't big and he certainly ruled.
