spain ae going to win, too strong.

I think it will be another win for Brazil. Spain is having too much trouble with injuries, Germany without Ballack probably won't even survive the group stages. Nederland will play a few outstanding games and then randomly fail, as always. Italy, France and Argentina aren't worth mentioning. England is a bit of a dark horse. They have much the same issue as Nederland though: they can't handle WC nerves. The African sides aren't good enough by half. Impressive physique and a few star players can't make up for a total lack of tactical skill. Still, it's the WC. Anything may happen.

1° choice : England
reason : Fabio Capello is a winning coach... and he never fail the big matches.

2° choice : Brazil
reason: They always finish the world cup in top positions...

3° choice : Italy
reason : the same of Brazil... only one problem Lippi has chosen only average players... the best players will not enjoy the cup and we don't know why...

4° choice Argentina
reason : they have the best player in the world. Cambiasso and Zanetti will not join the cup and this will be a problem also because Burdisso and Palermo are not a football players...

5° choice Holland
reason : I love Snejder... and the rest of the team is strong like usual...

6° choice France
reason : no... I'm wrong... sorry is not the volleyball world cup... never mind... please remove France eh eh eh ;)

I think you're pretty much spot on. I'm kind of hoping it won't be Brazil this time around though, they've dominated for the last 16 years. It's about sodding time the Dutch team delivered.

not sure whether ballack's injury is that bad for germany. ballack and schweinsteiger play very similar roles. schweinsteiger + one more defensive mid may be even better than ballack + schweinsteiger. kind of similar to englands gerrard + lampard problem.
the bigger problem of germany is that they have no good wings, besides lahm obviously.

nederland may play as brilliant as in euro08's group stage but it may fail mentally sooner or later, as it usually does.

argentinia had the most potential this year, but a shitty coach with some key players not even nominated.

france and italy are not that strong anymore, imo.

brasil has not the big-name-attackers this year, but this might turn out as advantage, since defence might be more solid. still i don't think they will win this.

my favorite is spain. some great players are injured, but they have so many outstanding players, compensation should be easy.

3° choice : Italy

Who do you miss from the italian squad?

And still no-one is backing their own country. A pleasant surprise

Germany has good wingers: Özil and Marin. But they don't have strikers in outstanding form. Yes, Argentina's weakest link is Maradona, but they have Messi. Dunga made interesting decisions too.

England has two outstanding "player": Rooney and Capello, but they are in the weakest group in my opinion. :)

I was surprised to see David Odonkor didn't make their squad
2010-05-18 18:03:50
Ballack's injury has killed Germany
