I did not say that YOUR media sources are skewed, I said almost all media sources are skewed.
The point of modern media is not reporting scenarios, but making them exciting or 'interesting' in order to keep the business alive. Media is just like any other business and needs to be profitable.

We are not under control of anything because a simple fact that you and many others forget as our lives are so different than yours... we have ALL experienced it first hand. I know exactly what the Gaza strip looks like from the inside because I have been there numerous times, both before and after several military operations. I have been to many cities, towns and villages in the west bank and in fact have quite a few friends amongst the Palestinian Arab population. The chief Qadi (Muslim religious judge) of the Israeli-Arab population attended my Jewish Bar-Mitzva years back so I know very well what Palestinian and Israeli-Arab lives are like. It is the same if I would have told you that you don't know what Dutch people's lives are like because you don't live there. Our (Israeli) opinions and knowledge is NOT derived from any sort of media sources... it is simple life experiences. So when I tell you that a certain news report or a general media attitude is skewed, there is a slight chance I know what I'm talking about.

I don't know where you get those "widely known facts" regarding Israeli ignorance about Palestinian lives. There is a difference between not knowing and not caring. Please forgive me when I care little about the quality of life of my enemy.

true, but you put always it up there as your first arguement of defence. Now you say I'm an exeption, but probably it'll pop up again in a later reply of yours ;)

Further, it is literally the first and foremost response of any defender of the israeli pov in any newsshow or talkshow. It's unfair and you don't live through it like we have to.
Yes, it is terrible how people have to live under the threat of a enemy weapons. Two remarks though.. people under those conditions are less likely to make a thoughtful response. And second, seeing the succes of the israeli solution during the last 50 years, I feel you should start thinking about a different sort of solution. Still very sympathetic to your cause though. Third, seeing how your region of the world works, you definitely need to think about a different kind of solution. Still sympathetic. Fourth, nuance. Not so sympathetic on the general understanding of this concept by israelis.

Peace to you. I hope you stop using this word in combination with labeling other people as your enemy. Then you'll understand what peace actually means.

sweet how they put kitchen knives in the mix. And put it on a flag with arabic letters. And put it amongst wrenches and other heavy machinery tools which can serve ambiguous purposes, 'colouring in' the true purpose of those items as weapons. Awesome propaganda.

and here is the "humanitarian crisis" in Gaza:

and like I said, this is how palestine is presented to the israeli population. Kids shooting with rifles, international aid presented as israeli aid, bullet hole free posters of arafat with saddam. And no pictures of bombed houses at all..

Oren... seriously... you are nothing better than Chuck and Charlie right now...

good job

We don't hate anyone just fight to live peacefully in our tiny country without the Islamic fanatics resist our presence .

wow man, at least I present some decent argumentation. And I'm not calling everyone with a different opinion ignorant. And I'm not joining in on the propaganda picture war.

IMO, this teasing the israeli POV with some divergent information is a very interesting exercise in group thinking during wartime conditions. Very curious how someone can justify his actions and thoughts through claiming he only wants peace, and still sees the other group as the enemy who's situation he does not care about.

I also have a complet arsenal of weapons at home, my kitchen is loaded with knives and my toolbox full of weapons, screwdrivers, hammers etc etc!! These aren't weapons you idiot but tools that also can be used to defend yourself when your ship is illigeally entered by zionists. These special forces were carrying real weapons with real bullets!!

True Israeli propaganda to show tools and kitchen equipment as weapons.

Ok I've watched this video a few times, and there are a few things that I wonder at:

1) If it was censored, why is it so easily available?

2) The navy commandos were attacked as they rapelled down, but it looks like only 12-14 seconds before there is a clear area (whether or not it's secure is another matter)

3) I can't tell if those are metal rods. Could be, doesn't matter though.

4) A guy 10-15 metres back is holding a chair aloft, it doesn't look like he got close enough to attack anyone with it though

5) The guy only looks like he's stabbed 'repeatedly' because of the play-rewind-play-rewind-play part of that video. It looks like only one stab.

6) I don't know why the caption says 'stabbed in the back'. To make it sound worse? He takes the knife in the front upper arm/shoulder area.

7) If that really is a firebomb, it's the shittiest firebomb ever made.

This is not nice, you are completely ignoring what I write in reply to your posts.
There is no doubt that the video here-above was put together with music to create an effect, but it is meant for you and not for us Israelis. What you see in those pictures is nothing new to us because we see it every day as part of our lives... and NOT on TV. We live together with them. We are completely mixed together. Here in Israel the government and media can NOT sell us any stories about the conditions in Gaza or west bank because we are completely mingled with them.
Only two months ago I was offered a job in a Jewish town in the middle of the west bank. I drove there passing through villages and towns witnessing living conditions and life styles all along the way. I don't need the media to show me propaganda movies... that same reporter might be one of my soldiers in the next military reserve duty I (and he) do twice a year, so his ass will be toast if he lies. We are a tiny tiny country and you can't hide anything from anyone.

maybe that's wh we don't have peadophiles ;-)
