no blockade is not illegal, but there wasn't any blockade in that area.
@ chuck norris: no misunderstanding, there are indeed some special cases in wich a nation can legislate in international waters, but it can only do it in order to verify that no piracy / smuggling / slave trading activites are taking place

Just a general question. Why not wait until the boat docked and then arrest the people on board?

Egypt opens Rafah border crossing
Egypt has reportedly opened the Rafah border crossing after the Israeli navy attacked the Freedom Flotilla aid convoy in international waters.
Egyptian security sources in Rafah said that the border was opened on Tuesday, MENA reported.
Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak ordered the opening to allow humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip one day after the brutal Israeli attack on the international aid convoy, which killed at least 20 activists and injured 50 others.

1. The Rachel Corrie will be stopped too. Any boat, flotila, convoy or country trying to break through will be stopped. Very simple. At some point we will stop bothering with paint ball guns and simply blow the morons out of the water, or actually sink them in. Feel free to keep trying... personally!
2. The Egyptians hate the Palestinians even more than we do. I saw (with my own eyes) Egyptian soldiers open fire on a Palestinian crowd because they rioted along the border. This is why the Palestinian population in the Egyptian part of Rafah - a city divided by the Egyptian border - never ever riot. They perfectly understand each other.
However, Hosni Mubarak is a clever man and won't get his country draw attention to their own blockade over Gaza, so he ceremoniously opens up the border for a while now. But if the Egyptians are such great friends to the Palestinians, why does he have to open it now? Was it closed?... hmm... interesting.
