Another question: Do you really think a siege helps in any way to come to a peacefull agreement? In my opinion it will only make the people in the area more determined to 'destroy Israel'. I don't believe for a second that it's in your own best interest.

You don't know for fact how much aid is sent and what part of it is blocked by Israel
You do not know for fact, in fact, any quantitive fact.

You also do not know for fact that Hamas claims all aid and distributes it at their preference.
You do not know for fact that people complain about corruption.
You do not know for fact that Hamas takes goods from the hands of UN representatives.

You may or not know that the tunnels are used for weapons supply, not just for building materials of who knows what else.

Well, I am not sure what you know for fact or not, but I am absolutely imporessed by your constant opinion
2010-06-01 23:19:38
It is a fact that Israel holds back a lot of aid for Palestina, it would be honorable for you to admit to it and say it's an absolute scandal. Would you be so fair?
2010-06-01 23:20:29
No, I am all for peace.
Ask Hamas leaders what wouyld be their plans. They clearly declare that they do not want Israel to survive. Judgung from what they did to their Fatah brothers, I would not dare thinking what they have in mind for me personally

Ask most Israelies if they want to end the war. We do.

neither do you, however I take the un's word for it.

Yes, I did.

oh yes, I do. Israel's politics aren't too clean either.

Of course I do.

Like dospho or RR above me mentions, it would probably be more beneficial if the siege was lifted and israel just worked on a good relation with its neighbours.

If I knew that Israel blocks legitimate aid (after all this is war, we must be selective), I would, and many other Israelies, protest against it.

We have an honorable legal system that proved its ethical supervision over the years.

Now, let's go for facts. What do you have?

I know, but you're changing the subject here. I asked you 2 simple questions but you completely ignore them:

1: do you agree it's a disgrace Israël is holding back aid for poor/devestated areas in palestina?
2: do you agree laying siege on an area is NOT the best solution, not even for Israeli people? (just imagine how you'd feel, what you would do, if you were under siege by palestina)

edit: nevermind, you did answer by now

Based on neutral reports.
2010-06-01 23:28:29
if you can read this
This is as close to neutral you'll ever get.

Belgium voted against, btw.

Somewhere in there is the condemnation for human rights violations. Must be true then, right? If the UN site allows me to find them, I'll give you some numbers as well.

I would have laughed if it was not a tragedy I live in.
These neighbours do not approve our existance. We tried.

We live in good relations with part of the west bank. Because they appreciate the possibility for peace. We live in good relations with Israeli arabs. They prefer to belong to Israel, rather than be part of the palestinian state that (I believe) will form sometime

I'll answer your questions directcly

1: do you agree it's a disgrace Israël is holding back aid for poor/devestated areas in palestina?

I am not aware of it. I have no idea what types of aid if at all are blocked.
For all I know it is strickly controlled but not blocked.
There were cases that the block was of lethal weapons. There was even a ship from Iran.

However, if it is true that goods such as food and medicines and agricultuure or such, I would disapprove. I already wrote above.

2: do you agree laying siege on an area is NOT the best solution, not even for Israeli people? (just imagine how you'd feel, what you would do, if you were under siege by palestina)

a. It's not the best solution. Not for us, not for them
b. It is an unfortunate neccessity, given the position of the other side.
c. We are under siege. Increasing siege. There are missiles covering all Irael, based in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Iran. We can only go out through air, and there is only one international airport, which I am sure is targetted from north and south. It does not feel good.

I already said, we want peace, but we must trust our neighbours. They are giving us (at least those from Gaza and Lebanon) all reasons to be skeptical

2010-06-01 23:43:22
well, that interests me. How did the relations change with the palestines over the last few years?

And as I understand, the big issue is the relation with the iran backed hamas (on the gaza strip and south lebanon, and syria). Why not strengthening the fatah government in gaza and lebanon?
Wouldn't the relation with them benefit from a more beneficial face of israel instead of the unilateral actions on their territory, which create the same sense of insecurity amongst their populace as their attacks to on your territory?

As I asked before, when I am going to see in this forum a topic condemning China for the treatment of the Chinesse and Tibet.
When I am going to see the same people asking for the human rights of the Palestinians asking for the Mapuche (that probably live much worse)
When I am going to see the leftish that condem Israel attacking the Arabs countries for the treatment of the women there and the gays there?
For the leftish people 1 person has more value than another? For you a child kill by a Israeli is tragic but you don't care about a child being abuse and kill in Africa?

For most of you is not about the Palestinian people (when they were oppress and kill by hundreds by the Jordanians you don't care, Black September), is about being able to condem Israel bacause is a Jewish State.

Europeans have their hands really dirty with blood, may be they should fix all the problems THEY made in the world before being in the position to judge another.
