War is NOT a way to obtain land.

rotfl...it is the only way to obtain land from another country. It was since the beginnings of the civilisations and it's the same nowadays.
2010-06-04 01:12:23
Well, as I said, it shouldn't be that way any more.
2010-06-04 01:12:55
It was a reaction, but as you were being sarcastic, it's not relevant any more.

When you make an argument that we should move back to Europe and they will move to Israel, thats a bit far fetched for me to answer properly.

I liked the part Israel is being blamed by the media for fast releasing the activists who attacked the soldiers. this was great to see, then you ask why do I think the media is bias?
2010-06-04 01:19:05
on one side you think it is normal that palestian refugees can't return to there houses,
but on the other site you think it is normal that a jew who lived in the usa for 50 years can return with a quastionable paper and ask a house back from a muslim in east jerusalem.
can you explain me this logic?

I never made that argument seriously. I said such thing because I didn't realize the post before was ironical.

And I don't get what you mean with the second part of your post.
War is pretty much the only way (sometimes a country buy land to another, but those are a few cases).

But still in war there should be some sort of codes, justify yourself because the other part will do worse if they can get what they want is such a poor reason, we continuously see that is the ultimate excuse nowadays.

Of course it shouldn't, war is bad - I think that everyone agrees with it[maybe except fanatic Muslims who believe in holy war against other religions]. The things is, that without a war you cannot extend your borders. As for Europe, or N. America - it's fine, I doubt that there will be any war. It's called civilisation and well being. But Africa/part of Asia[including Russia] - it's a different story. There are poor people who believe that they need to attack their neighbour to gain something. Also there are old conflicts, like Muslims[fanatic] vs other religions, Israel vs Arab countries, N. Korea vs S. Korea etc.

The thing is, everything is well settled in Europe[even the Balkans I think? correct me if I'm wrong] and N. America - there is no need for war. But in other parts of the world we can see what we saw in Europe 50, 100, 200, 400 years ago. It's normal. Not good, but normal.

ps. I wrote nothing about S. America because I have no clue how things are going there right now.
2010-06-04 01:25:19
How are things in S. America btw? I assume you're accustomed with this subject and it would be nice to get to know some facts about the situation :)

@noeok
yup, but imagine that there is a group in Germany that demands money/land from Poland because Germans were living in the land that is now owned by Poland ;-)

1st post: That's what I meant, but I didn't feel like writing such a long text ;-)

2nd post: That would be ... political incorrect ;-)

There aren't many war-aike problems in the South of South America for a while. The main problems are in Ecuador-Colombia, and lately Chavez has done his part in Venezuela. But I am not very aware of the situation.

Drug cartels are strong there, and from time to time it gets tense since military from Ecuador goes into Colombian territory following drug cartels, and the other way around.

We have other type of problems, but not conflicts between countries, more internal affairs :P.

Those houses were bought, if someone is selling his house, the buyers has a claim over it.

Lets be logical, if over 2.5M Palestinians were to cross over to Israel and live with us in harmony what do you think will happen ?
they will gain majority after 20 years(dont forget there are over 1M Arabs in Israel already.
How long after that do you think Israel will become a non democratic state ?
And I am not even talking about the fact it will destroy our economy and will change everything around here. It will take our home away from house the only state that is Jewish will be gone and all jews will have to find new homes. Is that logic?

Israel and USA will give them money for moving and never to return
There are so many Arab states...

World war II is over. There were made agreements between Germany and the neigbour countrys about land and money. I guess nobody will be so stupid to put those agreements in question and it will fail anyway. :)
2010-06-04 01:32:17
only a bit ;-)

here you can read about it

the main leader of the organisation is Erika Steinbach. Though as far as I know, she doesn't have any real power in Germany, so it's mostly about the 'Germans want our land again-sounds outrageous-it's good news-let's put it in tv news' thing.
2010-06-04 01:34:01
Good to know, thanks :) and how are countries like Argentina or Brasil handling the crisis? Is it tough?

@noeok
well the thing is, that it's not a speculation - all I wrote is facts, you can check it in the link that I posted ;-)
