What do you mean with "has come with less preparation" ?
as in not enough preparation to win properly.

It's all about the Cav anyway, does this guy even need a team to win these stages? Couldnt have been far off gaining time from everyone.
I hope you're not serious, or you know absolutely nothing about cycling ( which wouldn't surprise me, most English people know nothing about it ).

why do you think that knowledge of cycling is related with nationality?
Who was the last belgian rider who won the tour de France?
It is true that a sprinter need a team to avoid escapes, but I think once the sprint start Cavendish is strong enough, even without a team. He win always with some meters difference, so it arn't the details who make the difference
Sorry, i've just watched a replay and there was definately a massive HTC train leading Cav out there, dont know how i missed it.

It was known before Alberto went with less preparation, because I wanted to race the Vuelta. :)

And I remember that Freire no team has not won anything on the tour :(

There was massive work of Tony Martin in the last km to bring him in position and don't forget the big work of his teammates to get the group together.

Martin wasn't with him for that long at all really and the group tried at about the 35/40km mark and failed, think it was more down to sky that the group came back together.
My statement ( that English don't know anything about cycling ) is confirmed.

@ Noeok: I'm not making this up, Cav said in an interview that when he won his first victories in the Tour, people from UK asked him if he won the Tour then ... And the last Belgian victory has nothing to do with this ( I think it was Van Impe in '76 ).

yesterday evening i saw an intervieuw with Eddy Planckaert. They asked him if Cavendish could win a stage without his team. Eddy said this would be no problem. So this mean you know nothing about cycling or they know nothing about cycling on belgian television.

And yes it has something to do with it. Because if you think we have so much more knowledge about cycling then other countrys. I think it is wierd that although we are so much more developed we are waiting already 34 years for a new yellow jersy in Paris.

I saw it too. But if HTC Columbia didn't ride ( together with Sky ) in the peloton, then there wouldn't have been a mass sprint.

Yes, I think Belgium has more knowledge about cycling. Why do you think that a lot of the team managers are Belgian? Because we're experienced in cycling. And Belgium is still a top country in cycling. Okay, we haven't had good stage riders in the last decades, but we still win a lot of classics, don't we?
2010-07-26 15:40:25
yes, that is true. But the big money is in the Tour de France :)
2010-07-26 15:43:15
We still won 18 Tours, let's not forget that. But with the internalization of the cycling sport, it's logical that we don't win as much as we used to.
Bless you, poor us taking your sport away from you.

Cav was the best sprinter there, end of. If you cant understand that it doesnt mean the whole Belgian population are idiots, moron.
If you think I said Cav wasn't the best sprinter, you should learn to read.
if you said cav doesnt need a team you should learn to read and then take a course in being polite and not sounding like an arrogant twazzock.
