Pineau was stronger.
I do not see why he would be the mountainking...

What I think of yesterday, Gesink, Menchov and Freire are dumbasses! They should have said, have fun waiting for those who can't stay on their bikes, we will see you at the finish!! Who waited for Gesink when he felt, no one ...

Yes, they are! That was their chance!! Do you know if other favourites were in the first group? I've seen Klöden, Luis Leon Sanchez and Samuel Sanchez ...

All the big favorites weren't in the front.

True, not the very big ones. But there were some top riders who could be in the top 10 or even better. It would have been their chance.
Anyway, I'm still disappointed about yesterday and hope that today they're not waiting for those who crash! I'm pretty sure it's gonna be a total mess before the first cobblestones ...

Crazy stage, but very interesting! They should include a cobblestone stage in every TdF! ;-)
As expected Hushovd won and Cancellara was the strongest on the cobblestones. Big surprise Andy Schleck was that strong! Evans comes from mountainbiking, so no surprise he was in the lead group. A bit unfortunate that Contador, Menchov and Wiggins were all in the same group with each having another team member in it. Would have been more interesting if not because the gaps had been much bigger then ;-)
Armstrong was unlucky and is now in a not very good position.

A pity was Fränk Schlecks horrifying crash ... it's written he might have broken his collarbone ...

This is real cycling! What a stage...

great race, i'm enjoying this tour so far. Geraint Thomas and the sky team were on fire today, shame Cummings tailed off, but a great stage, looking forward to boring the gf with it tomorrow now :)

That's the 24th Tour I'm following now and I can't remember a more exciting first few days... I mean yesterday's was pants but today made up for it in style.
It's nice they arrive at the bottom of Les Alpes with some gaps between them, it should make up for an interesting race in the mountain.

in belgian you don't have mountains this where hills
i think rein will make a good chance

Its weird that you dislike basso , armstrong etc because of ( possible ) doping then you should not support the schlecks to (at least frank) . I like Geesink and armstrong very much and also Boasson Hagen !

If you don't like some riders because of doping you should hate the whole Peloton.

the quick step team are all drugged up, well at least 2 of them will test positive by the end of the tour :)
