Subject: Guitar Hero vs. Rock Band

Well, Rock Band is a much more proffesional looking game, but IMO I don't like it, the friendliness in GH just isn't there, and I hate the HOPO's (Hammer-ons/Pull-offs)

GH was always the more fun option, with more songs for the metalheads as well. With GH5 they sacrificed a bit of fun to make it a far more proffesional game, but I don't mind.

I play Expert on guitar/bass (bass sucks though :P) and have a few 6 starred songs (100% notes hit). My best 6 star was You Give Love A Bad Name (On Expert, GH5)

So I'm a sad sad person :P

So, which do you prefer, and what difficulties do you play?

i voted this, i just couldn't vote anything else as was i a musical school.


Kids now consider "cool" to be bet at playing guitar hero, rather than learn how to play on a real instrumant.... very sad...

Maybe these games will encourage young people to play an instrument. I'm not sure that playing a plastic guitar will substitute playing a real one...

Think of it as advanced air guitar - and air guitar never did any harm ;-D

rock band, for innovating the rhythm game genre constantly.

but, i play real guitar, so i don't need to placate myself with make believe toys :P

now if scales weren't so boring to learn.... ;)

GH started me off on guitar, just learning chords and arpeggios really gets boring. GH is more of a jump-in/jump-out kinda thing.

getting boring. this is the main problem. people need diversity, while they can learn what Discipline means. You need patience and discpiline, than you will have good results.

I play 10-20 hours a week. (2-3 a day).

It just gets very boring, whereas with GH/RB its a game, and therefore fun, not a hobby as some people do. (100% on every song and all that.)
