I think they simply don't want the strikers to "feel the solution in their pockets", and they feel somebody else deserves to feel it instead. Both inside and outside of Greece.
I also think nationalism is still too widespread in the EU for it to be called a "Union". And by nationalism I mean the simplistic readiness to put everything down to "us & them" on a cross-country (sometimes even cross-region :P) border basis.

We allready pay and we will allways pay. Such things can allways only be paid by the masses, there is no other way.
The consequences of Greek, Irland, Spain and Purtugal coing bancrupt would be worse. Iam sure soon Italy would follow and some eastern european countries.
Imo the only thing which can be changed is to take measures that it wont happen again.

Of course we can't let them go bankrupt. That's why we give loans. But they'll have to pay them back, all of them.
Never going to happen. Instead they'll do what every other nation does and pay back just enough to maintain the debt at an even level.
Most nations try to reduce their debt. For instance, Belgium once (1992) had a public debt of 140% of GDP. Before the crisis, we were just over 80%. Now just under 100%. So yeah, we try to reduce the debt.
What I said was countries will deal with their debt only to the point that it's manageable. Belgium had no option but to address the debt or be swallowed up by the interest. Once it's financially viable to simply pay the interest instead of the actual debt, I expect that's what you'll do.

What differences do yo see between the religious regime and the regime anti-religious or nonreligious?
Its not about the difference.
Its about usa was attacked on 11 september by some extreme muslim religious, so attacking a laicist dictature as an anwser is stupit. see irak now.
But attacking afghanisthan is logical, or trying to kill bin laden
I still have many questions about the efficiency and sustainability from those operations.
Sale and lease back from buildings
pay the salaries of the officials in the beginning of january instead of the end of decmeber, the vat who is normally dued in january
do the tax refunds in the next year after they collect the open debts.
On paper the debts are lower at the end of the year, unfortunatlly it is just on paper...
I still have many doubts where we should stand now if the authorities would make their budgets accrual based

Examples?
USSR, Third Reich, China, North Korea, Cambodia - enough?
@ Rubinho
Something else: do the Greek work? 'Cause they're striking ... again! Seriously.
Greece is dominated by socialists, anarchists and communists. And what's the best socialists can do? Strike.

Whot? If you can be the first to sell a product that can cure a huge killer then you'd be rich.
They cant make money out of it because you cant patent this product, thats why noone wants it. You can never be the only one who sells it, its commercially free.
Ho hum mac hum hum...:
1) The drug is still in trials, it takes three months to get the drug up to blood levels where it will stop the growth of cancer, and even then it's not a magic instacure.
2) It stops the growth of tumors, but it doesn't target and kill them. This drug will need to be used in combination with other treatments.
3) Some side effects, such as nerve malfunction, have been found, and the drug is still being tested for other side effects.
All this found by a quick run through the comments, verified on Google. Also, the drug is in production for Metabolic disorder. Hospitals could already use it if they wanted, its just too risky and horribly ineffective.

Also some links here and here to prove that this drug is beneficial.
My point was that only medical students of Alberta university and private donations have been helping out the research for this drug. That´s why it takes so long time and thats probably the reason this article was brought up in media now. All the pharmacy companys are denying this because they cant make money out of it.
Money changes everything.
