I just wanted to say that also Christians are not tolerating other religions
define 'tolerate' -

second, there is a societal aspect to how tolerant a region is regard religion

to all, there are radical Christians as well as radical Islamist. Here in the United States the radical "Christians" think it is OK to assassinate abortion providers. Some radical 'Christians' protest at funerals of US soldiers saying 'God killed them because the military allows gays to serve'
Radical Religious extremism, ANY religion ANY extremist, should be denounced. Period.
(it occured to me that this post did not state what I meant. In my opinion ANYONE should be able to worship how they want, assuming they do not break any laws. What should be denounced is when radicals, religious or otherwise, threaten, harm or injure others).

exactly, and christians go out in America to denounce and oppose the christian extremists i believe.

I did answer your question about the koran Stef and i dont know what your point was about the jails thing. You told me to prove it so i did, you asked whether there was a correlation i said i dont know, all i know is that they are muslim and the high percent in jail shows that they are failing to adapt and integrate into the French way of life if they cant adhere to the laws of the land.

and to the other guy, yes i have gone into islam as a whole here because the ISLAMIC extremists follow islam and use the koran to quote it and justify their extremist beliefs. But like i've said many times now, i know that muslims arent bad people and classing all muslims as something because of few is stupid and that there are extremists in all religions and most religious books have evil in them, but the other religions adapt to the modern world more willingly than islam seems to, some islamic states still dont allow women the vote for example and i think it was Saudi Arabia that upheld a ban on women drivers last week.

And as Dennis ended 'ANY religion, and extremist, should be denounced. Period.' Religion should not have to come into it, but you denounce islamic extremism and ask for the government to take action, you somehow get frowned upon as an outright racist. This isn't right to me.

these opinions i see here remind me of the "lega nord" opinions on muslims, the south italian inhabitants, black people and so on.
stupid people are in your country too and that is despite of their race or religion.
2011-05-27 17:22:08
yes, but they dont do their violence or hating because of a holy cause. They do it because they are stupid idiotic fools.
2011-05-27 17:32:12
so,what's worse?i think people that kill someone with a knife because he is a follower of another soccer team are the same shit.
don't forget what the catholic church did against muslims and jews in the past centuries
2011-05-27 17:41:19
They are, total idiots. Yes, but that was in the past and in the past i fully understand that muslims and jews would stand up against catholics then, just like the world came together to stand against Hitler, just i like understand why muslims in afghanistan and iraq are so pissed that innocent people die there because of our forces.

But while islamic extremists are roaming around our streets and the government dont do anything about it, probably because they dont want to get labelled a racist, i will oppose islamic extremism and call for my government to do something to stop it.
2011-05-27 17:59:04
and how do you do that?stopping totally the immigration of muslim people?
2011-05-27 18:02:54
Your leader is a former member of the BNP, as are many of your members. The EDF is the acceptable face of far right nationalism.
2011-05-27 18:06:32
it is like john Lennon said: Imagine there's no countries, nothing to kill or die for. And no religion too...

Unfortunaly there are. Imagine there was no one got the idiot idea to create Israel and allowed that millions of Palestinians lost there home because of this. There wouldn't be much support from the muslim population for islamic extremists.

Key words being FORMER. Like we keep saying, colour and religion shouldnt ever have to come into anything, you live in England, you should live by the English law and speak the English language, muslim, jew, polish, african, greek, french whatever, speak the language, follow the law and respect the country you live in and everything will be fine. If i went to italy, called italians names, refused to follow the law and offended lots of italians i'd fully expect italians to be pissed off with me.

To the Italian guy, you cant stop muslim immigration, we can reduce immigration as a whole which is a seperate issue, but i'd like to see happen is transparency in mosques, spot checks sort of thing as its been shown by many undercover tv programmes that hate preaching goes on in some mosques, i'd like to see police arrest those islamic extremists that preach hate and praise terrorists, i'd like to see terrorists to be imprisoned rather than just moved from London to Birmingham, just generally see action taken against those that are caught and more from islamic communities denouncing terrorist activities. Also, banning the burka and niqab, again a different issue, but it's just not right that someone can walk around with just eyes showing in the name of religion.
2011-05-27 18:43:14
if they preach hate they have to be processed.terrorists moved from london to birmingham?can i have some link of this?
regarding the burka i totally disagree with you.everyone may have the choice to wear what he wants(except lady gaga).
2011-05-27 18:52:57
http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard/article-23952171-court-orders-man-out-of-london-to-protect-public-from-risk-of-terror-attack.do

Course you have a right and you should have a right, unless that choice directly affects and has a negative impact on other peoples lives. Same way you can go out wearing just socks. A covered face gives you no identity, poses a security risk and intimidates people just like seeing balaclava clad groups intimidate and scare people. Its not like muslim women couldnt just wear a hijab instead.
2011-05-27 19:14:23
security risk? for what? i don't remember muslim women terrorist
(edited)
2011-05-27 19:18:22
Yeah, there's no identity there, you cant see who's behind it, the burka is becoming increasingly popular with armed robbers and criminals as it gives a legitimate way of covering your face, hiding your identity, not drawing attention to yourself and getting away with the serious crime you commit.

Its not because of muslim women, although it would be nice to actually see a person and not a big piece of cloth walking towards you in the street.
He doesn't say the muslims are in prison because of a religion problem. He says the muslims are overrepresented in jails. It is the case in Belgium, I consider it very possible this is the case in France too. The problem is not them being muslim - every one has the right to follow the religion he wants, no religion is better than the other - the problem is them not being (fully) integrated in our society.

Edit: And I don't say that failed integration is caused by themselves to be clear.

I do say so..

It's all about wanting. If I see people from turkish, french, filipine, russian, lithuanian, maroccan, ... descent who speak dutch so well I can't see why others aren't capable..

edit: and not only the language: also habits, clothing style,

I do not wish them to assimilate, especially not their kitchen, it's great to learn from them
