I hope he will be not guilty for all charges. However, the man has despicable ideas.

Well, I think it belongs to the religious topic, though speaking of the one posted above, I would say that The Man has respect for basic human values, The Man has a healthy religious way of thinking, The Man knows well what he states.
Christianity got over the inquisition thanks to the French Revolution, Christianity learned to respect human rights, Christianity realized that religion doesn't mean everything to a democratic society, Christianity became aware that men and women are neck and neck on the earth.
Why wouldn't other religions understand that?
Freedom is the most important feeling that a man has in his life. Without it we are nothing. It is limited, but we have tacitly agreed to a social contract... like Rousseau said Renoncer à sa liberté c'est renoncer à sa qualité d'homme, aux droits de l'humanité, même à ses devoirs.
So freedom means not only rights, but duties and obligations either.

He for instance wants to forbid the Koran. He wants to close Europe's borders for ALL muslims. In his opinion, their is no tolerant islam. There is only islam, which is on itself intolerant. I don't believe that, I believe there is moderate islam, there are muslims who don't want sharia in Europe. And I believe the muslims in Europe - better: a majority of them - accepts democracy as we know it, accepts equal rights to men and women.
Long live Geert. Long live freedom. Long live the truth.
That man is a clown. His ideas are a (bad) joke. If you'd read Dutch, you'd be able to see just how much of a hypocrite this man really is. As for freedom of speech, our dear hero likes it very much, except when people are opposed to his ideas. Then they have to be shut up. Democracy doesn't seem to agree with him much, either. He runs his own party like a regular dictator. The great leader, that is our mr. Wilders. Unfortunately, he is too much of a coward to actually govern the Netherlands. He did get the votes to do so.

You know that's not true. Which other Dutch parties would want to form a coalition with them, and then be responsible for what the ministers of the PVV would say?

On the contrary, both the VVD and the CDA wanted the PVV to be part of the government. Even though the CDA does have a lot of dissenters in its own ranks, the people on the top have been very clear on this matter: they actually preferred the PVV in the government in the end. The only reason we've got this outrageous construction is because Wilders did not want responsibility.

Well, my work-mate, our accountant manager, who's a women - her daughter had a party in her house while she was in hollyday somewhere in Spain. She came back and there were about 2.000 € missing. Of course there was only one person, maybe with some accomplices, who had done that. However, her daughter got a prohibition to invite ALL her friends home any more...
An investigation is hard to be done, an infractor is hard to be put to sentence. Radical measures protect sometimes better as we would think.

I think officially, it was because CDA and VVD see islam as a religion, while PVV considers it an ideology. However, I can't imagine this would be the real reason not to form a government.
By the way, do you think Wilders should be condemned as guilty?

First of all, what the hell are you doing with € 2.000 in your house? Don't they have banks in Romania? :p
Now serious: there are christians that committed crimes too. Should we sent all christians out too? (and jews, and atheists, and ...) Look, I want a more restrict policy concerning Europe's borders too, but going towards a complete isolated Europe from muslim world is not the direction we have to go through. There are organized crime gangs here from Eastern Europe. Should we reclose the border with East Europe?

No, we should just lock them up. (thats eastern europeans, or any criminals for that matter)
If crimes are being committed in the name of a holy cause, which they are, you go to the source of the problem to stop the crimes from happening. And that unfortunately is the koran so i can see where he is coming from. The 'moderate' muslims dont really follow the koran, they are sort of how i class myself as a 'moderate' christian, respect the book and everything, celebrate the festivals and hold a certain relationship with christianity but that is it.
Closing the borders to muslims is just absurd, unless they hold extremist or intolerable views or are unwilling to live a lifestyle that would work in a western world, in which case barring in could be acceptable.

rumpil and the other slovakian guy: where are you now?
The EU is considering to make Greece some kind of Treuhandanstalt? Isn't that a violation of national integrity in your eyes?

The Dutch equivalent of the DA asked for an acquittal so, technically speaking, I believe he should be. I do believe it is a disgrace, though. The DA was forced to prosecute by a court order. I consider it very bad manners to deliberately go for an acquittal in the face of such a court order. That really is not how it should be done. I do believe a politician should be free to say as much nonsense as he wants, but mr. Wilders did in point of fact create an athmosphere of hate and distrust. I'm not sure whether or not this constitutes a criminal offence. I think it might be, but I would have loved a clear verdict (either way). The DA has made this virtually impossible.

I'm not understanding it well; could you send it to me in pm in Dutch? :-)
