I think I'd come close naming 90% of the American states. But I seriously doubt 50% of Europeans can name 50% of the American states. There are as much states in the USA as there are fully recognized countries that are at least partially in Europe.

I know I should. I feel sorry for him. He's the proof Dutch education occasionally fails. But of course, that is because Dutch education is leftwing socialist ... :-(

My remarks were generally speaking; I read this ove rand over ,not only here, that youngsters "think" tha tthey know so much, but in their opinion clearly there is this one-sightedness.
That is cultural.
Like how palestinain children learn about jews.
Knowing your background and your cultural history is something that has been thrown out of our schoolingsystems since the 60/70's , yes by the socialists, since learnign about it would make peoples eyes open and see that socialism does not work, does bring poverty and harm to where-ever it is....and that all cultural blooming and all welfare and democratic free society is built by kapitalism and more rightwing view and government.....
This is including your freedom to speak, to have acces to education, to live in homes and drive cars and watch telly and use mobile phones...to name a bit.
I lived through a time where there still was eastern and western europe. and even than the socialist were lying and realy dreaming and thinking that the sovjet system was ideal! Were they ever surprised after 1989! The roaring economical top nineties were only beacuse of the freing of communism ....both good for us, and good for the people who were living in poverty and dispair in the East.
The developing countries ,brasil russia india and china all boost their successes, just with one magic thing KAPITALISM!
I am not saying that all capitalistic coutnries are "better" but is is an economical fact that it brings welfare and freedom and power to its people!
also is my point of view; if you are ignoring all killings of Serbs by Muslim rebels "before" and during the balkan conflict....han I do not want to take someone serious if he or she is complaining about Serb "murdering" or other non proven facts. Both sides lost lifes, and lost their homes...but it was set up and started by others against Serbia...it started with scaring Serb minorities out of those areas..by rape and murder....
Maybe in the trial of Mladic, we iwll see and hear some facts about these.....would be only fair.

I wish you would read the whole document written by the Serb intelectual elite. But, judging from your lies, maybe you already did and you agree with them.

He had the powerful army while others had almost nothing. And hypocrits from UN decided to make an embargo to importing weapons thus leaving us all to get slaughtered by the Serbs. no offense taken. sadly, sometimes when I talk about Europe to Americans and use the term BelNeLux I have to stop and explain that this is NOT one country, but three. Or that there is now both a Czech and Slovak republic.

Kaliningrad, used to be Königsberg in Prussia. Went to Soviet Union after WW II, when Germany lost it's territories in nowadays Poland and Kaliningrad. When Soviet Union collapsed, Kaliningrad stayed within Russia. It's an important harbor for Russia.
dont worry, I also cant fix the Baltic countries. Got same problem for those Euro-asian ones like Azerbaycan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, ... :)
Estonia - Latvia - Lithuania from north to south, so hard to remember?
And Azerbaijan and Armenia are close, but Uzbekistan is the other side of Caspian See. The three Caucasian states are Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, from west to east. So hard to remember?
