Oh i know these topics for a while now...it is all scientific....it could happen, as much as global warming...
We depent on warm gulf stream and that belt is cut off by large qunatities of fresh melted water in the arctic...stuff like that...
It is possible...and it would effect lots of people and most are worst of than europeans who can take care....
but still; why bother if something might happen ....or not at all.....people are living on vulcano's anyways....it is part of life to go out and live! We, especially Scandinavian and Dutch people, tent to overeact when safety is concerned.
maybe we should ask polar bears or even mamut!

Only old sovjet people speak of kaliningrad...like leningrad for st Petersburg...it is quite simular.
In sovjet times a lot of villages with names that Stalin and the communists did not "prefer"they changed it....so whenever a foreign or Tjaristic name, it was converted to new names....

It is very hard to be objective about who started wars in Yugoslavia,but I am sure that U are defending your side by simply accusing Milosevic and Serbs.
All I know that the final score of wars is:
-Slovenians get its state for a first time in their history.
-about 300 000 Serbs where ethnic cleaned in several days by Croats in presence of UN, and never return back to their homes where they lived for centuries.Croatians get its state for a first time in their history.
-about 150 000 Serbs where ethnic cleaned from Kosovo in 74 days of bombing by NATO forces , and also never return back to their homes where they lived for centuries.Albanians from Kosovo get its state for a first time in their history.

I'm interested in your view on the split-up of Yugoslavia (and no, I don't say that is comparable with Belgium).
Split-up of Yugoslavia has no similarity with your crisis which end certanly will not be bloody as ours.But the beginnings of our crisis started politicians who abuse our weakness.

For places where they used to speak Dutch - not centuries ago though!, so I'm not talking about Bonen, Kales, Sint-Omaars, Robaais or Toerkonje - we use the Dutch form too, or do prefer to use Enghien, Mouscron, Braine-l'Alleud and Jodoigne over Edingen, Moeskroen, Eigenbrakel and Geldenaken?

Im sincerely agree with u that Bosnian muslim where most suffered during this war because Bosnian Croats that have their parent country Croatia or Bosnian Serbs that have their Serbia.
But now Bosnian muslims have its state for a first time in their history.

I really do hope so our crisis won't be as the yugoslavian one. Probably it never will, we already live in nearly segregated areas. There would be some fighting near the languageborder but that would be only skirmishes.

I know that I was told the same reason; the fun is in your statemtn; can someone please come up with any other good reason of colonising Kónigsberg....
Belgium situation is completely different; the main trouble that had the balkan area in war were muslim aggression; they would call it "freedom fight" ;the sam sounds you will here in Bruxelles for that matter by muslim criminals ruling the streets...

No, it is a very simple task. You just have to read the timeline written in the wikipedia link. The key part is in 1986 - Memorandum of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts. Intentions written there were then followed through by Serbian government led by Milošević.
"Ethnic cleansing" of Serbs is a logical result of their failed politics. Majority of Serbs basically fled regained territory scared of what might happen but to majority of Serbs that decided to stay - nothing happened. Of course, there were horrible random cases of crazy individuals releasing their hatred and frustration caused by war but the fact remains that war was started by Serbs who did not want to stay and peacefully watch the change of their majority role in Yugoslavia to minority roles in Croatia and Bosnia & Herzegovina.
Er1k noticed well how you omit many important facts from your "final score". I don't even want to start counting the victims. The fact is that there was no war whatsoeverin Serbia and Serbs lost the wars they started as minorities in Croatia and in Kosovo but, sadly, they actually won in Bosnia & Herzegovina. They now have their own undeserved ethnically clean entity in federation while Croats and Bosniaks had to settle for their joint entity.
Political situation resulting from this is a disaster. Republika Srpska is basically the only entity really created on ethnic cleansing in ex-Yu which means that 5 of Radovan Karadžić's famous 6 strategic goals were accomplished (he only missed to access the Adriatic Sea which was actually the most ambitious one). Unfortunately, it seems that sooner or later Republika Srpska will join Serbia and so, sadly, Milošević's legacy will maybe not be completely in vain for Serbs' territorial pretensions. Let's hope that it doesn't happen and that all people who want to return to their homes are actually allowed and helped to do that so that all nations can live in peace together. But lying about what happened will surely not help that process.

Many times people think that Serbs raped muslim women,but it is commonly known, by the time that Serbs came to war to rescue their people, they were so much disgusted with the muslim crimes that they would not even touch a muslim woman...I would say their aggression is completely and utterly understandable...whereas the muslim violence , for centuries was always unprovoked,and stimulated by their "leaders"in thinking to create muslim states and ruling area's...
