On the contrary, Russia lives from the sales. Quite literally. Take that away and Russia will implode.

i just said that i don't see them running out of resources. so they really need not to worry about "taking that away->implode" factor as there is no way for someone to take that away from then other than to attack and conquer siberian, near caspian and far east regions :)

russians are very emotional people so i guess whole 90's situation really struck them. still i have no doubts that a nation that gave so much to the world and managed to rise itself from very very bad moments will rise once again an take it's place as one of worlds top nations

military has everything to do with any kind of interstate relations. if your military is strong enough, you get certain "benefits" or let's say special treatment by countries around you
like when you show up as a new kid in class being a bad ass 190cm 100kg mma fighter or 150cm 70kg fat nerd. trust me, you wont be approached in the same way by people in school :))

The EU is an economical union, it is not a military union. Therefore the strength of the army is not important for candidate-members.

not really sure which part you think is wrong?
yugoslavia was founder, together with india, indonesia, ghana and egypt. now i don't know which part of bigger you disagree on?
i meant bigger market, more population... as non-aligned members are/were almost whole africa+big part of asia + big part of south and central america i'm 101% sure it's bigger than nato or warsaw pact was at that moment :)

It's not the population that counts. You say bigger market, but Africa is not a big market although it has a high population. Comparing BBP of NATO or Warsaw Pact with Non-Aligned Members would be more logical to decide which 'group' was the biggest. And countries like China, Brazil, Argentina and Mexico were no members of the Non-Aligned Group.

neither is a school a place to fight but you still respect that 190/100 mma fighter much more than nerdy fat kid.

argenitina was actually and all the other countries you named here were much more fond of non-aligned and willing to cooperate with than with nato or warsaw pact

Stays the fact that the strength of the army is of no importance for membership.

Okay, Argentina used to be member. Still, have not seen a source confirming NAM was bigger than NATO or Warsaw Pact.

talking about yugoslavia as leader of non alligned is nonsense
today (almost) all countries are allied to capitalism
no natural resources, underdeveloped technology, no export, energy dependant, expensive labour-cost...and a strong army (for what?)
yes, it would be a great country today

No.

well, you should
Giving orders for ethnic cleansing is a crime against humanity for me.

None of our generals ever gave orders for this. Tudjman only wanted to regain control over our territory and he wanted the Serbs to stay there and respect Croatian government.

The Hague Tribunal had transcripts of Tudjman's meetings with his generals before the Storm. There was a sentence of Tudjman saying "we will, like, guarantee human rights and everything to those that stay". And the Hague translators translated this word "like" as "ostensibly" (meaning that we would pretend to give human rights) only because they didn't understand that Tudjman used Croatian word "tobože" very frequently. It was his buzzword more simmilar to when people use the word "like" frequently when they speak. It is unbelievable that court conclusions are based on such statements that got lost in the translation. It is also unbelievable how weak these arguments really are and how they were used to question Croatian leadership's motives which was really and only liberation of our territory. It is even more unbelievable that the leadership of a war for freedom gets prosecuted for war crimes. It is incredibly and amazingly unbelivable that anyone is able to believe that Tudjman would note down these conversations if he ever thought of content to be anything else but completely righteous.

The verdict to our generals can only mean a clear statement that our whole war for freedom is judged as a criminal war. That verdict is a slap in the face to all the Croatian victims who after they suffered greatly by getting attacked in their homes by another country and were not nearly enough helped by international community, now have to get "raped" once again by seeing people who relieved them of their misery get prosecuted by a hypocritical court who is able to give a stronger punishment to a general leading righteous Operation Strom than to person leading the complete destruction of Vukovar!?

Let us remind once again: Croatians didn't want this war. We had what we wanted: a free Croatia to be ruled by Croatian citizens including 12% of the Serbs. Latvia was lucky enough to get that peacefully regardless of their 27% of Russians. Croatia was prevented to get its freedom peacefully. There are absolutely no examples in recent world history where leadership of a country that wins a righteous freedom war gets prosecuted for war crimes.

Different people respect different qualities. The right thing to do is to respect the person that is more honest and righteous and not stronger.
