Well he's been planning it for 9 years, so whatever happened about 10 years ago may have inspired him? 9/11 perhaps?

I've read quite a lot of that compendium thing, mainly because the media here were spewing crap, trying to lie about a group i belong to, but all the compendium shows is that he was a nutter that ahd views that dont fit with any organisation/group/religion or anything. Hence why he was starting his own Knights Templar thing up.

The amount of planning he put in, even for that, just insane. The guys completely bonkers and living in some kind of whacky fantasy land.
Today, our government is resigning for 459 days now, since April 26 2010 (!). We had elections on June 13 2010. Still no new government. What about that? Who's ever gonna break that? ;-) Oh yeah, currently, the people who should be negotiating are on holiday, the king said "they deserved it" ...
The Chinese state news agency Xinhua blazed into new territory Monday with the lighting up of a giant electric bill board in the most prestigious spot of New York's famed Times Square.

Few Americans are familiar with the government-run communist Chinese company and China is routinely criticized in the United States and elsewhere in the West for heavy censorship and human rights violations.

How is it possible this bill board is allowed on Times Square ......

Well to be fair...blocking an advertisement of a news agency would be an act of heavy censorship...wouldn't it?

Not when it's China's state news agency knowing the things China does :) What's next, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) of North Korea or maybe the Iranian state news agency?

Well everything can be advertised, unless there's a law that says otherwise. For example you can't advertise cigarettes in Polish TV.

If you want to say 'no' to what China does, then start with not buying toys, clothes, electronics etc. manufactured in China. Blocking adverts of their news agency? sorry, for me it's kids stuff, or rather politicians stuff. Oh, I can imagine a senator saying 'this is our stand against what happens in China. we say 'nay!' to Chinese advert!' - sounds great, would get him or his party a bunch of new voters for sure.

Would blocking an advertisement of an agency who is fascist (just theoretically) be heavy censorship? No, it would be common sense. Just like not blocking this Chinese agency is a lack of common sense.

I understand what you mean, but I prefer to disagree ;-)

So taking their money and products, hence strenghtening their economics, is fine...but showing an advert of their news agency is not? Let's be realistic.

And yes, in my opinion blocking advertisements of certain channels and blocking certain channels in TV is what China is about, not 'democratic' western countries. Matter of principle - 'you might be wrong, but you're allowed to say what you want'.

That's your stand against breaking human rights? Blocking a news campaign on Time Square? Oh I bet it will hurt China a lot...!

And I really don't get how you can't see the similarity between the censorship in China and what you propose...

From where do you think new gazillions of dollars for USA debt ceiling are coming from ? :)

USA owes them se much now they can't say no to almost anything xD

I don't understand that you don't understand that Xinhua IS China and all the bad things they do but don't tell about because of their censorship.

I defend that principle, but there are limits. Advertising from an agency that is clearly under China's rule and that is denying human rights is over the limit for me. And yes, I am in favor of stopping all trade with regimes that violate the human rights (like China). I'm realistic enough to know that's not gonna happen.

I defend everyone's right to say what he wants, unless he calls for violence or if he does not respect human rights. The agency is an organisation of an institution (China) that does not respect human rights (today, they - togetter with Russia - blocked further action against Syrian regime for instance).

Look, this is how it is indeed ;) They own the US dept and can make or break the Dollar.
They can't without hurting themselves. The Yuan appreciating would be a disaster for Chinese export. (If they stopped buying dollars.)

Also true but that's already changing. In China more and more stuff can be sold to a growing middle class, they need the US a lot less as they did before. And with a country like China you never know what they will do ... If the Party decides to break the Dollar they will, they don't care about people or the world :)
