It's horrible what's happening with the drug war in your country. From my point of view it's so horrible it's almost unbelieveable.

Legalize the use and distribution of drugs. The cartels would disappear. And the wast amounds of cash could used in the "war against drugs" could be spared and used more wisely, while the products could be controlled and taxed like any other legal substance. It's a totally failed war anyways.

I know. There's too much money involved in this business to close it down with law enforcement. It's been tried for the last many decades with no result.
Widespread legalization - especially in the US - is the only long term solution. The money spent enforcing the ban and keeping a hell of a lot of people in prison (many, many billions of dollars annually) could be spend on prevention and education instead. Treat drugs as a health problem, not a security problem. Just like we do with nicotine and alchohol.
It would really mean the end of a lot of misery to a lot of people. And as far as I know there's no evidence, that legalization means an increase to drugs abuse.

Some people in the world should be very careful of the things they say as they are public figures (politicians, artist, etc) and their words can really have an impact on a lot of people and the way they think. And sick people can start thinking that what these public figures say is actually always true ......
If others can decide who to shut up and who not our world would become an even more shitty place to live. But if you like it, move to a country run by a dictator!
But in some cases it would be great if I could do it, I can make a nice list of people that I want to shut up and you are often on that list. Would you be happy with that if I could do it? Don't think so ... It's not only your freedom of speech!

So supporting terrorism is perfectly fine in your world? What about peadophiles, should they be supported too? Or rapists?
It amazes me that speaking out against people who are terrorists, or who support terrorists are quickly suppressed and denied their freedom of speech, yet those who support mass murderers and call for more terrorist activity, are allowed to do it in 'freedom of speech'.
One of the guys i was with one day got arrested for holding a banner saying 'bin laden - rot in hell' because he held it near some muslims who could have been offended. These same muslims that were chanting that bin laden was great, the same muslims that praised the 9/11 bombers and the same muslims that called for an uprising against the queen and faced no action whatsoever.
People already do decide who to shut up and who not in our world, it's just disgusting that they choose to let those who break the law and support murder, to have their voice heard.
