Ah alright, you just take a moment in time (a few month ago) and start judging everything only from that moment and just forget all history and the reason why, like why this war started in the first place and why Europe, US and Arab Liga helped the freedom-fighters. Well, that's an easy brainless way to look at situations ....
And terrorists are everywhere, also in Europe. And they have all kind of religions, color, ideologies etc etc. And the problem is, in case of Al Qaida, they are already organized so when there is a power-vacuum they will try to get that power. But this has absolutely nothing to do with Gaddafi, but everything with the current situation in the world. No 1 can look in the future, everything has to be delth with when necessary but no 1 can predict anything so what is coming is all new for everyone. Besides, shouldn't the Allies stopped Hitler because after that the USSR took the whole of eastern Europe or did no 1 know what was coming so Hitler first, and all other was unknown?

look on it with some realism..
If NATO do something some people will die.
If NATO don't do anything other people will die.
Remember that in Libian prisonos thousand of immigrants from subsaharian regions were imprisoned and just left to die in the cells (in sahara's prisons without water).
To be honest libians do that to maintain the commitments with the Italian government..
When someone says it's better to do something/nothing I immediately think: "Better for who?"

you are trying to make comparison between "tens" and "thousands", nice.... :-(
Why western european countries think, that weak country need their help and need to listen how they should live ??? What country where USA, NATO were already have now freedom and democracy ??? Somalia, Vietnam, Iraq, Lybia, Korea?
Algeria, Tunis, Egypt, Irag were colony of France, England, Holland for many, many years. Why there is not freedom and democracy in this countries, but dictatorship?

Democracy starts right after you say no for some contract :-)

NATO(some country in NATO) are profitable still(no you, me, but people are selling guns) and is better to listen for freedom....

Simply nobody's right!

Algeria, Tunis, Egypt, Irag were colony of France, England, Holland for many, many years. Why there is not freedom and democracy in this countries, but dictatorship?
In short:
- Egypte became a dictatorship when Nassar shoved Mohammed Naguib aside and prohibited all political parties, after the coup d'etat that kind of gave Egypte it's independence, .
- Tunisia became a "one party state" when one party won the first elections in 1956, after which Habib Bourguiba suspended most laws that would guarantee democracy.
- Iraq has been a dictatorship in one form or another, with mainly military coupes for the last 100 years....
- Algeria is a different story, one can argue that also here a "one party" state took over, immediately after the indepence from France...
One can say that England and France just gave up on those countries and negotiated with one dominant party, without really caring about democracy at that time...

So imagine this: IF Hitler just exterminated the Jews in Germany, and didn't attack Poland, Czechoslovakia, ... You would not intervene? 'Cause there would be 'peace' in Germany, just like there was 'peace' in Libya under Gaddafi rule.
are you serious? NO ONE carried about Hitler in 28 days massacre during which Germany finished occupation of Poland...NO ONE carried when Hitler ordered to divide Czechoslovakia into Czech protectorate and Slovak pro-Nazi state...liberation of Europe started after Churchill with tears in his eyes asked USA for help against aggressor (Roosevelt offered U.S. troops after 2 years of diplomatic negotiations) and Hitler gone too far on east and pissed of Stalin...no one of this two deliberators intervened conflict for moral values...
so tell me, why any country should intervene in these conflicts (Libya and Iraq)...for moral values??? stop kidding me...

I´ll tell you whats going to happen in Libya in next 2-3 years...during the civil war (which is starting nowadays there) government will not be able to maintain collapsed infrastructure related to oil which is most important business article for this country..they will need lot of money for defending, state administration and also health services for regular citizens not involved in war...Some bank or country which senses an opportunity will borrow them how much they will need...in a moment they´ll unable to repay a loan, they force them for starting privatization of whole oil sector...so Libyan oil wouldn´t be anymore Libyan...just on their land...
I dont understand this.... Gaddafi was not good person, it was simple dictator who maybe steal Libyia for own luxury life but also help Libya. Libya is in Africa great country.
'who maybe steal Libyia for own luxury life' ... this is enough reason to get into war with those he stolen it from, the residents of Libya. A murderer helping the poor is still a murderer!
This region need dictator same as Iraq.
Ridicules. Why do people in another part of the world would want something else as you and I want, be able to decide what your country should be? Because they always been forced to live under a dictatorship doesn't mean it therefore is what they really want. Get this strange thinking out of your head please :) I don't even understand how you can think like that. Because eastern Europe has been under dictatorial communism for 50 years that would be for ever the best for them? Just as ridicules to say. Strange thinking ...
And stop say that this has really something with freedom or so.... all world see that this war had just oil and economic contracts reasons.
Yeh, had nothing to do with a bad dictator ...... Ofcourse there are more reasons, there is always politics involved, but you just want to see what you think, nothing more. Accepting Gaddafi had to go seems impossible to you.

Dedicated to anyone, who´s considering Libya war as a good step for Libyan nation:
which option would you choose:
A) living in dictatorship, under strong laws with drained civil rights, but government guarantees you solid standard of living
B) living in democratic country with full civil right but limited options (thanks to instability), while government absolutely doesn´t care about your standard of living, even if you are going to die by starvation...
New rebel government in Libya as their first step after taking control stopped almost whole social benefits set by Quaddaffi for Libyan...thats the best way how to maintain a country *irony*

If you can do this, can you also please tell me the next numbers of the coming Dutch lottery? Shouldn't be a problem for you if you are able to predict the future in 2-3 years ..... You must be a really rich guy! :P

Come on, I was writing here, there will be a tribal civil war in Libya after conflict started...at that time you guys doesn´t even know there are some tribes in a country...
I am predicting on a base of my own experiences...sth similar happened in my country, democracy was installed in ´89 by relatively peaceful way...but after revolution, the same people which forced whole nation to go to streets and squares, started to hand out golden eggs of our economy to foreign hands...next generation of politics just finished the process...now our refinery is Hungarian, power plants belongs to Italy, telecommunications are German, metallurgy is American and regular people are working for NETTO salary around 500€ for South Korean, German and French automobile factories...what a shame...

Hello!! Don't just invent new things, keep it realistic. The residents of Libya started the fight and Europe, US and Arab Liga helped these people to win the war against Gaddafi, and even almost to late. Don't turn it around so it fits your own story of what happened.
Algeria, Tunis, Egypt, Irag were colony of France, England, Holland for many, many years. Why there is not freedom and democracy in this countries, but dictatorship?
Eeeuuhhh, jeeeh ..... Holland in North Africa and Middle East :P The Netherlands never had colonies in North Africa and the Middle Eastern colonies of the Dutch ended about (around) 1760 AD and these weren't really colonies, mostly tranding-posts.
And why many of these colonies you are mentioning became dictatorships I don't really know. Could be because when the power of these countries that owned these colonies ended, a fight started over who would be the next in power in these hugely divided countries with many different tribes put to each other in countries with really strange borders. Hee, kinda looks like what is happening now again in Libya ... coincidence?
Vietnam, Korea?
And Vietnam and Korea are 2 completely different examples, these were wars during the coldwar, to stop communism.

Yeh, in the Netherlands we earn a bit more (and everything costs a bit more), but we are also often working for foreign companies. Welcome to the world ;)
EDIT: in the first half of this year 41% of all acquisitions of Dutch companies are done by foreign companies. In 2010 this was 40% and in 2009 32%.
And these are the % foreign shareholders in 2010 of large Dutch companies:
KPN 92,5
ASML 90
TNT 90
Ahold 88
AKZONobel 88
Wolters Kluwer 83
Philips 80
DSM 76
Aegon 70
ING 66
Fugro 61
Boskalis 60
Randstad 52
Heineken 48
BAM Groep 40
% foreign shareholders of these large Dutch companies is unknown, but probably also a lot foreign shareholders:
Air France-KLM, Arcelor Mittal, Corio, Reed Elsevier, Unibail Rod., SBM Offshore, Shell, TomTom, Unilever, Wereldhave
