now our refinery is Hungarian, power plants belongs to Italy, telecommunications are German, metallurgy is American and regular people are working for NETTO salary around 500€ for South Korean, German and French automobile factories...what a shame...

Yeh, in the Netherlands we earn a bit more (and everything costs a bit more), but we are also often working for foreign companies. Welcome to the world ;)

EDIT: in the first half of this year 41% of all acquisitions of Dutch companies are done by foreign companies. In 2010 this was 40% and in 2009 32%.

And these are the % foreign shareholders in 2010 of large Dutch companies:
KPN 92,5
ASML 90
TNT 90
Ahold 88
AKZONobel 88
Wolters Kluwer 83
Philips 80
DSM 76
Aegon 70
ING 66
Fugro 61
Boskalis 60
Randstad 52
Heineken 48
BAM Groep 40

% foreign shareholders of these large Dutch companies is unknown, but probably also a lot foreign shareholders:
Air France-KLM, Arcelor Mittal, Corio, Reed Elsevier, Unibail Rod., SBM Offshore, Shell, TomTom, Unilever, Wereldhave

thats not true, my brother-in-law is working in Netherlands and he is bringing home lot of goods, which cost in your country 1/4 of our prices...also he said, there are prices for food and services comparable to ours...let study this picture, maybe you´ll learn something about our standard of living:

are you serious? NO ONE carried about Hitler in 28 days massacre during which Germany finished occupation of Poland...NO ONE carried when Hitler ordered to divide Czechoslovakia into Czech protectorate and Slovak pro-Nazi state...liberation of Europe started after Churchill with tears in his eyes asked USA for help against aggressor (Roosevelt offered U.S. troops after 2 years of diplomatic negotiations) and Hitler gone too far on east and pissed of Stalin...no one of this two deliberators intervened conflict for moral values...

so tell me, why any country should intervene in these conflicts (Libya and Iraq)...for moral values??? stop kidding me...

Are you familiar with the English word 'if'? I even wrote it in capital letters. So this is just utter bullshit.

And yes, some people have moral values. For instance, if I was in charge, I would stop all trade with non-democratic countries and countries that violate human rights, including China, almost whole Africa, etc. (Be aware of the 'if' this time.)

you tell me, after some time, what iraq has :-)

How long did it take before the Balkan was a bit more quiet after all wars and people could finally live together without killing each other .... (see examples of Филип)? Still not.

Also, how long was Europe at war before they finally agreed on the borders we know now so everyone was happy and all inhabitant of 1 nation called themselves Spanish, Irish, Greeks, Belgians, French, Kosovo etc? Still not after hundreds of years of war and fighting ;)

This is Iraq, all kind of people put together less then 100 years ago because of some lines on a map, wiki - Demographics Iraq.

And this was also Iraq under dictatorship: Gassing Kurds(shocking!) and killing of Shiite and invasion of Kuwait and burning oil fields .... Great to have a dictator, knowing he will support 1 group and won't give a f*** about the others, or even hate them like Hussein did. Great idea to have dictators. History showed that people are really happy with dictators, right? :S

This is what I found on numbeo.com (good site btw):
Cost of Living in Netherlands
Cost of Living in Slovakia

Ok, the averaged income in the Netherlands compared to costs is better as in your country. But I do wonder what kind of things your brother took home that are cheaper in the Netherlands as in your country. Probably a lot of beer ;P
2011-11-16 21:28:09
I think that some IT goods, or electrical goods (tv, video, mobile) are cheaper.... one my friend is always sending something from US to svk just because it is cheaper :-)
But I am not sure....

or maybe, gas ?
2011-11-16 22:21:27
No, absolutely not gas :P The Netherlands is 1 of the most expansive countries in the world for buying fuel (according to wiki the 3th most expansive country in the world after Turkey and Norway): wiki - Typical gasoline prices around the world.

And these are the gas prices on the site numbeo.com:
Gas Prices in Netherlands
Gas Prices in Slovakia

Maybe something like technological gadgets indeed, we are a try-out country for many smartphones producers for example because we love those things (34% of Dutch consumers use a smartphone), so maybe that's also a reason these kind of things could be cheaper over here, but I'm not sure of that.

Also funny statistic:

That stats about apps have one mistake, I suppose it count just legal downloads and I have 100% cracked apps :)
2011-11-17 09:12:28
And I really doubt that counts also apps downloaded from china and Russia markets.. it is just stats of some worldwide download store or so..
