Exactly. I hate it that all the news is now about that horrible accident. Look, it's a tragedy for the families, of course. But is it really that interesting to completely dominate our media with an accident? A day of national mourning, come on ... It's like rubbernecking for the whole country. Disaster tourists.
Bus accident in a Swiss tunnel - 28 people died, among them 22 kids belgian kids who were about 12 years old :(
Wow, didn't hear any news today but that is really sad. Also 7 Dutch kids. Strange accident ..

Really too sad :(. I am father I can not imagine if my childs were there :'(
Scotland won't go. If they do they won't be able to support themselves in this economic climate.
They have the 'ownership' of the majority (if not all) North Sea oil rigs that belong to the UK, I think they'll manage. :)

It's absolutely shocking, I heard about it last night when I was coming home from football training, I'm absolutely gutted for the families of those involved, tragic time indeed. :/
Don't understand the drama. Lot of young kids died the last few days. These weren't more valuable then any other.
Yeah, I always wonder why there is mourning after 22 people die in one accident and not when ~100 people die each weekend at the roads...

And that's also a good reason why the others of the UK won't let them go that easily ;P

1 because it are kids
2 because it is sad it happened
3 because it are a lot at the same time
4 because it's in the news
But I'm shocked by the heartless reactions in this topic .... :S

One death (in this case 22) is a tragedy, one million deaths is a statistics.
It has nothing to do with being heartless. I'm sorry, but the death of 22 kids in a road accident shouldn't be the single news they talk about. It's an accident, it's tragic, but that's all. Life goes on. There is more important news than that.
In the Netherlands they spend over 2 weeks on the accident of one of the royalties. If you ask me, those kids is way more tragic and worth more time as a royalty getting into coma (also bad, but 22 dead kids is truely sad) and spending a few days on that news isn't strange at all.
Ofcourse more tragic things happen in the world, but this is our world for that short moment in time.

"News" is not determined by importance but by what people want to see and hear. Being able to personally relate to the subject is an important part of it.
The majority of people relate more easily to the pain and suffering involved in this tragedy, then let's say the Euro crisis, or civil war in Syria.....

For me, it isn't.
