Nuclear emergency at Fukushima plant. Explosion has been confirmed. I hope that this will not be serious.

Well, an exploding nuclear plant is already serieus enough. And radiationlevels are still rising, not good.

Though they're saying the reactor is still cooling down, which is what is important. Hopefully they can keep it up and get the cooling to work better again somehow (electricity for radiators, more cooling fluids etc).

Hopefully, they can prevent a second Chernobyl.
I read there's no way to be another Cernobal...
There is no chance it will be like Chernobyl, because the reactors stopped as soon as the earthquake started. Despite the fact of high pressure, the explosion was apparently due to hydrogen and oxygen re-combining. There won't be a nuclear explosion.

Basically they are releasing the radiation out step by step(so that some of the radiation dissolves? in atmosphere) hoping that they are letting it out faster than the pressure is rising?

Seems like an explosive combination there to me.

All those new footages, really unbelievable. Also the before and after photo's, complete villages are gone, exept for a few houses.

And a third reactor in problems .. maybe now the world will understand the risks of nuclear energy again.

Earthquake and tsunami seemed horrible, but now seeing japan is facing a big nucleare catastrophy it seems trivial.

Couldnt sleep well last night, hoping for some miracle.

A hydrogen explosion reportedly ripped through another reactor at the Japanese nuclear plant where a reactor exploded Saturday, deepening a crisis government officials are calling the worst the nation has faced since World War II.

It seems that things are going out of control.
This will be a disaster in a 50km radius.
Tchernobyl was a boil compared tu Fukushima :(

interesting and good article, and probably happyend for japan...

This article is crap.
There is no core catcher in any of those power planets that would prevent the core to melt into the soil and cause severe environmental pollution.
