The Israeli army is not "peaceful" because it's counterparts are not rational. It is a strong army that did the best effort in human war history to avoid casualties from the other side. This is whil eits country is being bobbarded in barbaric way, ignoring any rules of international law.
If Israel army would enter into Gaza, the major reason for casualties will be their being human shields by their own people. Israel does not want to do this, otherwise it could have started earlier.
Those hundreds of thousands are more afraid of their own soldiers than of Israelies.
Calling it massacre is deliberate and cynical point of view. It does not make you be more objective than I am.

But as the Hamas is firing rockets now from civiliazed places and near schools, building and crowd areas we probably will have no choice.

No. I don't like the link that you posted, because I am not proud of what it tells. Big part of it is true.
What I am proud about is that Israel is a real democracy and people are not afraid to speak their minds, criticize and protest.

Regarding the you probably don't know is that our own supreme court prohibited the army from using that type of human shield and it is not done anymore for years now.
The situation in Hebron is well known and is not acceptable by most Israelies. However you can see that generaly the army buffers between the sides.
The settlers are fanatics but do not represent the Israel society. Unfortunately they succeed to manouver the army and police (they do legaly own most of their houses).
On the other hand I am proud of these ex-soldiers that regret and understand after just a few years. This humanity and passion reflects the real Israeli society and moral eductaion. I wish to be able to see this on the other side, but unfortunately their education method corrupts young souls from early living.
You are lucky to live in a place with no conflicts. If there were - you would have been forced to take measures and actions. It is your priviledge to take one side as absolute truth but since you live in a pluralist society, I would expect broader understanding of what you see, and deeper interpretation.
I am proud to live in a society that despite all the burdons, has the most humanitarian army in the world. Yes there is proof that we are not perfect or angles, but the last week shows how we care for the palestinans lives in Gaza, much more than their own leaders.

Until there will be free Palestine territory, there will be Hamas breaking peace. What is needed is annexation of remaining Palestinian territory and possibly even Sinai and transfer of unloyal Arabs to some another Arab country when there will be international possibility.
