"Radical atheists however claim, they know that God doesn't exist, and who doesn't share their opinion are disrespecting common sense. So your argument is stronger, you should prove it. From my point of view your opinion disrespects human logic, until we find a 100% proof. "

Firstly, I'd imagine that radical atheists don't say that they know god doesn't exist. They'd say that on the balance of probabilities there very, very, very (x1000) probably isn't a god. You're projecting your beliefs onto others there.

Secondly, whilst there still doesn't exist 100% proof either way, it is either malicious or stupid to suggest that we should call it 50/50.

they should be thrown into jail for that. It's nothing else but stealing.

stealing??
interesting.. I have some doubts about the right to own money..

anyway, I wonder how you prefer to deal with that problem, to let banks fail? then currentist will lose more.. or else to get money from where?

You're looking on the macro scale, I concentrate on the mikro...

I don't know much about economy so I won't aswer your questions - simply because I have no idea about it.

All I know that no institution has the right to take money from anyone. The gov has punished the people, who did nothing wrong.

What's next, taking away houses and selling them to foreigners?

Taxes usually have a sensible purpose and give back the money in services - national education system, national healthcare, police, etc. This one is plain stealing.

interesting.. I have some doubts about the right to own money..

Why?

That's where you're wrong. In a democracy, the state has the right to do so. It is called taxation.

(But of course I agree that this Cyprus-deal is unacceptable.)

1 I agree with Levitate
2 when you accept the capitalistic logic you must accept that lending money to someone is having a risk.
He may will not be able to give them back to you.
I think there's no difference in this if you debitor is a bank.

well. It's hard to describe the right you have on the money that are in your pocket as property.
It is more similar to possession.

But it was only a my thought without a direct impact on this questions!! :D

This measure is just asking for a bank run. And that's not good for anyone.

LOL You have no idea about that either.
So, do you think that bankruptcy and getting no money whatsoever is better for owners of deposits?

It's really astounding how people today don't know the first thing about financial system they live in. A bank can go bankrupt the same as any company. It's been known to happen, it will continue to happen and when it does, bye-bye money that's in the bank. What so strange and incomprehensible about that? Don't put all your eggs in one basket, i.e. money in one bank and you'll be fine. The more the merrier. ;)

I'm not saying that it is impossible to take money from people. I'm saying that the don't have a right to do so.
2013-03-18 15:47:06
If this so called taxation will happen for real, guess who is going to deposit his money in a bank? Nobody...
2013-03-18 15:56:06
in italy we had it in 1992 (0.6% of evey bank deposit)

the day after everything was the same..
If this so called taxation will happen for real, guess who is going to deposit his money in a bank? Nobody...

And so you really believe that when billions and billions of euros will be all over the houses in mattresses, then nobody will steal them, i.e. the money will be safe?

I'm not saying that it is impossible to take money from people. I'm saying that the don't have a right to do so.

Well, they have a right to file for bankruptcy and then most if not all of the money is lost. Do you find that as a better solution for deposti owners?
A lot of assumptions once again, none of them are right. I'm just against central planning. So no, the government should not be able to decide 'what is in the best interests of the people'.
Apparently, you are in favor of this measure. How would you make sure that there is no bank run if this measure isn't changed?
