What should the government do?

The best way to avoid the unpleasant and inhumane consequences of Bystander effect is to assign the collective responsibility and tasks to an institution, in this case the government. There is always less people that are willing and able to do the charity work than there is charity work needed. Ignoring this fact is pretty immature and maybe even malevolent towards people in need.

I watch TV political news today.... maybe mistake, I am just angry now.

They were talking that Cyprus has problem, that people there have nice average salaries (2 000€) but because they have cheap bank sector they can easily live on debt so they usually spend 3000€ monthly.
This system was unsustainable, of course and now it collapses. So they need help from EU = also help from Slovaks which have guarantees and money in ESFS (find for help) too.

Slovaks have average salaries 700€ and people here dont like use debts so much cos we are so intelligent that we dont want take debts when we are not sure pay them back.

thx to all people in Cyprus that they need my money and thx that they are burning EU flags cos they politics are stupid and Cyprus people there like living on debt.

And the Greek and Cypriots should watch out comparing Merkel with Hitler. Germany is tolerant, but they have their limit too. It's like a dog biting the guy who gives him food. Someday, that guy will stop giving food. And then the dog dies.

True... I am always wondering why Germany is always so helping. Of course, we all need EU for big market and so .... and one army and other for lowering costs.... but anyway, if Germany stops its help, then a lot of individual states would collapse.

But it is much easier make Germany guilty than tell the sad true like "our nation is stupid that allow our politicians to do this"....

So, if a person is lying after a heart-attack in the street full of people and nobody helps him, there is no collective responsibility for the situation!? Of course there is! The diffusion of responsibility is exactly what causes the by-stander effect! So, recognizing this effect on an individual level actually means taking your own individual responsibility for such situations in general. Ignoring this fact is avoidance of own responsibility. That's why we have organized public emergency medical service. That way we have assigned a certain task of collective responsibility so that we have someone to call to come to rescue instead of just desperately trying to help this person with our limited individual resources for such an emergency situation. That way we have significantly reduced the burden of our individual responsibility which is a reasonable thing to do.

And theft is the solution!

For the millionth time. Collecting tax to pay for common services is not and can never be theft. Theft is 1st illegal and 2nd performed violently or in secret.

Anyway, you are also always free not to pay tax. Don't earn any money officially and you'll be fine. You will even get some unearned money from the taxpayers. ;)

I dont watch TV news because I have a lot of alternative internet resources :-).
I just turn it on today, but there was nothing what I can call "manipulated".

But I dont like that bullshits that rich men are abusing all the world by finance so just they are guilty and similar fairy-tales :-). The sad true is that mankind from 21th century are really easy manipulated but we still have "democracy". And also it is the fact that if some people in some countries are living for 700€ monthly and another for 2-3 thousands it is is mathematically bullshit and unsustainable. It had to collapses. Living od debt is possible just if GDP is always growing, and if not, it will collapse and people will blame the banks :-DD

That's all fine, but this "Cyprus is in trouble because they make 2000 and spend 3000" not only sounds absurd: it is absurd, as it's nowhere close reality. It's just some simplistic bs that was already said about every country in troubles, replacing the name of the country and pretty much nothing else. I guess it's some sort of populist cliche to set the public against any EU level help without much thought.

Cyprus banks are going in bailout because of the greece bonds cut.
The non-saving of greece by Merkel idiots are still making damages.
After some years those coiches has costs 3 times and still we are no able to handle this stupid problem...

I find insane this continue mess you do with words. Calling taxation theft you do a bad work even for some of your ideas.
If you say only that you don't want taxation, because you don't like it, you don't believe it, you prefer a different law in your ideal society.. we can discuss your ideas .
But you prefer to use imaginifc words, that brings only confusion and errors. Calling theft what a law says is simply crazy..
