So rumpil, you are against the attack on Libya by NATO? So, if NATO hadn't attacked Libya, what would you propose to 'solve' the Libyan problem?

Who tried to solve this problem peacefully?

Don't you think there isnt a lot of secret hidden diplomacy going on before these things happen? :)

There are two solutions.
You could either let them work it our for them selves and remember it took Europe a lot of time getting where we are. Many lives were lost due to dictatorships through out Europe.
Or you could make an act to over thrown a blood dictator. Second option gives you a chance to save human lives, but its not always clear if the end result will be better than now.

Whatever Europe does, there will always be people against it. If we do nothing, some people will say Europe is supporting dictators for Europe's benefits. If we try to force Khadaffi to give up his position, some people will say Europe is behaving like in the colonial era.

Doing nothing wasn't an option. We aren't in the middle ages anymore and can't let them fight this out themselfs, the world watches these days and can see the ongoing massacre.

Rubinho, take it from other side...who´s declaring, there is any problem in Libya? ... probably you saw some videos of demonstration with a few people taken into camera from near distance for effect of a mass demonstration and declaration of U.S. MoFA Hillary that, there is a fire into civil aims, probably (based on satellite data)...at the same time MoD of Russia speaks, they didn´t notice any rockets over the Libya...who´s right? Aggressor country which unduly attacked 2 another countries, or Russians which doesn´t have any real interest on the matter? Don´t believe to anything that media are presenting as the only truth, use your own brain...do you understand how danger propaganda should be? do you remember Hitler?

I believed that Obama will be much more better US president than Bush was, but now the man which has been awarded Peace Nobel Prize is attacking an independent country (in such delicate region as North Africa and Arabian peninsula is)...this picture says it all:

It depends who does the massacre...
Armenian massacre done by Turkey isnt acknowledged by the west, Chechnya massacre was barely admitted to suctions.
There is some truth in what our friend over here said, the idea weather to act or not isnt always got the best interest of the country involved. But the interest of the countries deciding.

I am all forward no death's and bringing down bad regimes but sometimes were not equipped with the right set of eyes to fully understand the situation.
I think our best example is how Barak Obama handled recent crisis and just how much wrong his Intel was.

1. Nato can attack just air fighters to make non-fly zone.. nobody from UNO allow them attack ground targets and hurt civilians.

2. how to solve...? question is if this rebellions are really made by Libya population or somebody help to create it. I can ask too, how you want solve this, if somebody help to create artificial rebellions, there is now no good solution..

So you believe that without our intervention, Libya would have been a peaceful country? No, the rebels would just be smashed down by Khaddafi's army; they would all be murdered because they protested against Khaddafi. And no, I'm not discussing whether there's a problem in Libya or not; there is a problem. If you can't see that or don't want to believe that, then that's your point of view, but I completely disagree. Give me sources then that confirm there is no Libya problem. Good luck with that.

But as said before, I am willing to kill a few hundred people by accident to save a few thousand from being murdered by Khadaffi's army.

2. You have NO proof whatsoever about your speculation of rebellions not being Libyans. And you know my solution: smash down Khaddafi, and have free elections like Egypt to create a real democracy.

Dont hold your hopes to America, America is a broken country with better things to deal with than world crisis. America is slowly trying to relinquish their position as world leaders and clear the stage for EU or really any one who will take it.

just technical question, if you use word "rebels" you mean Al Kaida / CIA or libyan civils...?? maybe every man here at this topic use different names ....
