I'm not laughing with your 'joke' and I'm not going to a mod either. I'm just sad that people can be that pathetic.

and seriously, for next time, you can say the sasme missatge, being more polite. Its not because i need you to be polite, because i can defend myself. But most of people will find you like a nicer person if you do so

Syrian attack was made by rebels to provoke war !
So USA will be just aggresor if they start a war and UNO should stop them!

Russia will help defending Syria against aggressors, so USA is starting really big and long conflict on their way to get power over region....

i was speaking in a metaphoric way. Us, the heritage people from the roman empire ( spanish, italians), we speak some time directly, as you germanics do, and other times in a metaphoric way. But not metaphoric like the arabs, is a different kind of metaphora, wich i just cant explain in english, is difficult to explain

So, i was meaning, that the fact that you are rude in internet, is showing sth about your RL, that you are not really happy. Is like a rule:"99% of badasses on the web are softasses on RL"

And i dont tell you this to put you down, i think you can be a nice guy, cause you are smart ( not as smart as you belive you are, but pretty smart)

So, maybe chanching your attitude will mean that you will be happier on your live
2013-09-06 18:40:37
yep, USA sometimes does evil things, as evey empire does. But i belive the rest of empires who have been on the world are even more evil

i see just two exceptions: USA ( is, as every empire, evil but less evil thna others) and the roman empire ( only if you are a roman cititzen ofc)

yeah, there was slavery on roman empire, but related with other powers on this time, they acted less evily

Stop believing Russian news would be a big step forwards for you. This country loves to support murderding dictators last couple of years (or in fact, decades), not only with vetos but also weapons. Which doesn't mean you should blindly believe western news as that wouldn't be smart either. But by believing the (more) bad guys you make a joke of yourself.

as in chemicals that are outlawed by the Geneva Protocal?
hogwash. PLEASE, cite a legit source on this.

I thought I posted more as this, but ok ..... Is this cherry picking really the max level of your answers? Is your misplaced nationalism preventing you from being a bit more critical or even honest, and is it also preventing you from using Google yourself to find answers which you may not always like??

Max level of my answers....???
Whomever makes a statement is open to having that statement questioned. Why would I need to do a google search if this was true? There is a vibrant free press here in the US, throughout Europe and the world.
Also, there is alot of crap on the internet. Agreed?? That is why I asked you to cite a legit source for your allegation. OK, lets go with any source, and then try to get to legit.

Why is asking for a legit source 'misplaced nationalism'. Listen, I do not agree with everything that my country has done. But when someone makes an allegation that I have NEVER heard, then yes, I AM curious about that. If it occured I DO want to read more about it. So, honestly it is just the opposite. I AM critical and try to be honest, and finding TRUTHS that I may not like is fine with me. That only means that I have learned something and will need to adjust.

I know that you may think most Americans have a very USA-centric view of the world. I will even agree with you. (Example- many Europeans will say 'Americans think they are the most important because they will not learn foreign languages'. To that I say we can drive 3,000 miles from New York to LA and not need to speak any other language, so it is not demanded in our core curriculum, or at least it used to be. Recently many states started to require 2 years foreign language to graduate from High School).

But because I obtain most of my news from USA media, that does not mean that I am not curious. I think I have a broad world view. You and I may disagree on some things, but that does not mean that I do not seek truth.

So try this, instead of saying negative things about me, please answer my question. Otherwise I will assume that there is no answer and your statement is incorrect.

Hellow dennis! i could speak spanish from south of Argentina to the border of canada and being understood by close to everyone. When i was in Deenver, iwas surprised the amount of people speaking spanish

I was surprised too by the cultural level of the middle USA cititzen, i thought before travelling that you were "dumber", and you aint. You are right sometimes you are escexivily local. per example. a typycal newspaper from Denver, show news from the city or state, and hardly from the country, never from the world. I think some 3-4 national newspapers.. showing to americans some pages local, some national..and some international would help

I had really big laughs reading the Onion, a brillliant ironic crazy newspaper

I was surprised too, about that people usually dosent define theirselves as "americans". I knew a family, "irish-americans", the father ex marinem, there was a catalonian girl hosted in their house. Great people. Also some polish-americans, farmers, friends from those irish etc. They owned a real modern farm, i was surprised, and a really technological-fancy house. The irish family, with their father ex marine, had a more humild house, but they were really great people. I knew a lot of mexicans too, i was the "gallego" ( a state in spain) for them, even i always said"im not gallego, im valenciano" ( another state here is Valencia). It didnt mind, i was the gallego always for them LOL

So, what do you think abot USA´s actions in Afgnanistan? and in Irak? Its curiosity, because you are american so you may have a different point of view.

Salutes!

edit some typo

My dear 'gallego' friend-
first about US newspapers lacking world news. You are correct, especially newspapers here in smaller cities, less than 3-4 million, such as Denver. But I would say that this is the economics of todays newspaper business. Ten to fifteen years ago the same newspaper would have been much different with a good segment of the news reporting to world news.

As to Afghanistan- I was for the military action to seek Al-Quida leaders who were responsible for the 9/11 attacks of the Twin Towers. There have been mistakes made, no doubt. (One of which was to divert troops from Afghanistan to Iraq.

As to Iraq- I was agnostic about this when Bush first started his Iraq war talk. I remember when Bush finally laid out the reasons for going to war and the "proof" we had of WMD, I said to a friend, "Well, if we must go to war to stop Saddam Hussein and his WMD, then we must". Then seeing General Powell speak the the U.N. I was convinced we had to do this.

However at first it was to stop WMD. ( To protect Israel and our other allies in the region). But the
first time I heard Bush say "regime change" my 100% support of that was went to maybe 50%. Then when Bush talked about "bringing democracy to the region' and the "axis of evil' statements, my support dropped to 0%.

In my opinion it was not, and should not be, for the US or for the world to decide what type of
government people should have. Be it dictators, kings, oligarchs, tribes, or democracy. We can wish that others countries would adopt one like ours. But that is about it. Who says that U.S. style
democracy is the best? While I think it is the best for my country, maybe it is not the best for another country such as Iraq.

Around 2004 there was nightly debate on the the news channels about just HOW did we get into war, and was all the the Bush administration say true. DID BUSH LIE? or just have bad intelligence? This went on for years. During 2006 I began to read several books on the war. And my verdict is that Bush was looking for a reason to topple Hussien. If you have any doubts about this, read the book CURVEBALL.

i think yo have ideas similars to mines. afganisthan heLped to made the 9!11 so hell yeah, they deserved the occupation, not any kind of doubt for it, imho

irak as you say, i see it from the 1st day as you finally see it, it was a mistake too. i prefer a lacisict regimen in there than a islamist one! Our dumber president Aznar , also helped you ( americans and british) with some troops and controlling some cities on this country..it was a big mistake, imo! A dictature never is good, but the Evil always have grades to,. So,for me, an islamists dictature is worse than a laicist dictature ( that sadly is sth Irak can become too, lets see)

Nice to speak , about USA politics, with an USA cititzen, you are hard to be seen overt this threads

cheers my american friend!

and, about the more controvertided topic..

what do you think about the friendship beteween Arabia saudi and USA? i understand, USA ( as every advanced country, we need oli too) need it. Now arabia saudi is loaded of petroleum. But, and i think is a big BUT, they practice the harder version os islamism. In fact Ben Laden comes was born, raised , and educated in there

dont you think, having this kind of friends, coul lead on "sth" bad? i cant gues what is this "sth· to happen, but "sth"

it remember me, saving the distances, that old 80 film: "sleeping with my enemy" , from sharon stone. is like you / USA) are sleeping with your real enemy ( from ideological point of view, they reallY hate american standar of live) : Arabia Saudi

I was lost about your opinions about newspapers my friend, sometimes my english faills me.

Did you mean, like the nespapers are more locals than nationals or iternationals because a money reason? like the public-consumers would buy more the local newspaper rather than the one with: local, national , and international news?

Un saludo amigo! It is always nice to discusse and xpress ourselves with someone smart&polite
