I was lost about your opinions about newspapers my friend, sometimes my english faills me.

Did you mean, like the nespapers are more locals than nationals or iternationals because a money reason? like the public-consumers would buy more the local newspaper rather than the one with: local, national , and international news?

Un saludo amigo! It is always nice to discusse and xpress ourselves with someone smart&polite

In my opinion it was not, and should not be, for the US or for the world to decide what type of
government people should have. Be it dictators, kings, oligarchs, tribes, or democracy. We can wish that others countries would adopt one like ours. But that is about it. Who says that U.S. style
democracy is the best? While I think it is the best for my country, maybe it is not the best for another country such as Iraq.

It is exactly the same opinion, the irish american proper marine always told to me. Not adding neither erasing a word. "USA should not be the police of the world", he always told me

edit: typo, as awlays : P

Big true, I just wish more people in your government realize this.

Not just because US style could not be the best (can be :-) ), in those hot regions democracy is bad system. Country full of "terrorists" and religion fanatics can not have democracy, they need smart dictator and strong hand in leadership. That is the main reason I was against war in Lybia...

as to the Saudi USA relationship- I am not sure what to say about the US-Saudi relationship. It is one of mutual, or rather symbiotic interests. We need oil, they need stability in the world. From what I have read the Saudis have a very strict, oppressive country. So our countries work together to our mutual benefit.

About the newspapers. Twenty years ago newspapers made alot of money. Twenty years ago every city in the US of say over 300,000 people had a daily newspaper that had many 'world news stories.
Today, with cable news, with internet news, print media is having trouble making money and world there are few world stories. So the lack of world news in papers is a function of economics.

I get very nervous when I hear US politicians talk about potential US involvement in 'regime change' or 'democracy building'. That is not our job.

IMHO, there is not mutual benefit. BECAUSE THE ARABIANS TEACH THEIR KIDS HOW EVIL ARE THE INFIDELS ( US) ETC..

I THINK THE 9/11 IF NOT DONE , WAS BORN IN THERE

PS: srry for capital lettersa, i feel so lazy to corect them

Alright, a bit more text as 1 or 2 sentences. Apparently, I struck a nerve :/

See: Use of chemicals by drones according Pakistani medics. No, I don't think we will ever read a lot more about this. US won't admit the use of it and would do everything to keep this out of the news, also there aren't that many reporters near drone attacks in these inhospitable areas of Pakistan, and who is really interested in the Pakistani victims?

You can call it hogwash because you never heard about it, but that is really naive. I think we never heard about it because that's what they want. The army isn't an open organisation that will tell you exactly all the terrible things they do. For example wikileaks, without wikileaks the world would be even more naive as nowadays, but we still know almost nothing and those who tell us a bit more become USA public enemy no 1.
2013-09-11 07:27:14
congrats- you have a report which states Pakistani medics say that chemicals from the missiles have contaminated the local environment. The drone bombs hit a terrorist building. How do we not know that there may have been chemicals inside that building?
What was The Chemical??

Some things add up. And some things do not. To me, this does not add up.

Ok, start calling me naive. Whatever. And 'why never heard about it because that is what the army wanted'. What about the Pakistani government? Why did they not report it?

You can believe this report. I can choose to not believe it.

It is naive to think you know the things the army, CIA, secret services, etc. do. These aren't organizations known for liking or even respecting the human right laws :/. And if you don't know about it and never heard about it these organizations probably won't do those terrible things, well, that's naive-over-the-top :P

Charles Hill-

WHY do you keep calling me naive? I know that there are many US agents in the the world, CIA and so called 'black ops', that do alot of things that never become public knowledge, and that the US would not officially condone. But to extend that to US military strikes, strikes that our government knows will become public knowledge, I do not agree.
About 'black-op' agents- I would think most countries have such agents. Certainly all members of the G20. This is not new information.

You have one web story that quotes Pakistani medics stating that 'chemicals from US drone bombs' caused ear, nose and throat irritation.

WHAT would bee gained by using a low toxic 'chemical' in a drone strike.
(risk VERY high, reward VERY low, if not miniscule)
WHY did the writer of the story, or anyone, not follow up with more information.
WHAT was the alleged chemical? (could no one gather samples)?

As I said, you can believe this story, and I can choose to not believe it. But please, naive? You must resort to name calling. Why can you not just state your case and be done.

Yes, it's paid by the Koch brothers. No, intervening in Syria probably wouldn't start WWIII. They still make a valid point though. Because Obama.
